     Correction: Provide a smoke alarm on each floor level to include a basement or ground floor and at the top of any stairway but excluding crawl spaces and unfinished attics. 1 hallway detector can be used in the upstairs hallway if it is located at the top of the stairwell and within 21 feet of the farthest bedroom.

     Correction: Provide a smoke alarm outside of each separate sleeping area, within 21 feet of any door to a sleeping room. Install a nonexpired smoke alarm in the upstairs hall and at the top of the upstairs stairwell. One detector can be used at the top of the stairwell as long as it is within 21 feet of the farthest bedroom.
