About RecordWell Data
RecordWell Data republishes Wisconsin public records in one searchable place. We add maps, filters and year-by-year history, and we keep records after the original sites drop them.

How to read child care records
- Violation descriptions are DCF's own words. The categories (cleanliness, supervision and so on) are ours, added so you can scan and filter. Always read the underlying text.
- "Serious" means DCF itself marked the violation serious on its visit report.
- DCF's Child Care Finder shows about three years of history. Its main page drops violations after about two years, even though the visit reports keep them. We read every visit report, and we keep everything we have read.
- A program whose history we haven't indexed yet is labeled that way. Zero violations on it means nothing.
- Almost every program gets cited at some point. DCF itself notes that not every violation is an equal risk to children. Look at what was cited, whether it repeats, and what enforcement followed.
