     GENERAL MAINTENANCE

     Roger Mayer, Town of Centerville Building Inspector (License #978516) inspected the home for compliance with UDC as it pertained to the complaint. Mr. Mayer stated that he thought that the entire loft area with staircase had been added after his occupancy inspection (2018) as well as the front and back steps. The outside steps at the front of the home need to have code compliant handrails installed to UDC code. The back steps leading to the hot tub need to have code compliant handrails and spindles installed to UDC code. The second floor window area that spans two floors is not constructed to UDC code and an UDC code compliant guard (handrail/spindles) must be installed to prevent injury. The gap between the back steps and the house must be filled in with approved materials to meet UDC code. The handrail on the spiral staircase is not constructed in compliance with UDC code and must be repaired to code with approved materials.

     Correction: Obtain all required permits from the Township and make all repairs as required to bring the home into compliance with UDC. Repairs must be inspected by Township. License has been placed into a conditional status.
