Herrmann, Ald. Hill, Ald. Hofer, Ald. Kreyer, Ald. Miller, Ald. Swan, Ald. Williamson Council Absent: Ald. Hand Others Present: Attorney Kelsey, Director McCue, Clerk Poppe, Celia Hiorns Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2026 City of Hayward Budget Budget Hearing – 2026 City of Hayward Budget A public hearing was held regarding the 2026 City of Hayward Budget. The overall 2026 City of Hayward budget amount ($2,272,893) decreased $6,120 from the 2025 budget amount ($2,279,013). The proposed 2025 tax levy amount was listed at $1,392,556; an increase of $48,393 levied for taxes for 2024. The majority of the increase ($29,978) was for debt service to make the final principal and interest payments on the loan obtained for the 5th Street Project. The remaining $18,415 was the amount the levy could be increased according to the levy limit worksheet. Approval of the 2026 City of Hayward Budget Ald. Miller made a motion, seconded by Ald. Swan, to approve and adopt the 2026 City of Hayward Budget as published and presented. Roll call vote: Ald. Herrmann – yes; Ald. Hill – yes; Ald. Hofer -yes; Ald. Kreyer – yes; Ald. Miller – yes; Ald. Swan – yes; Ald. Williamson – yes. Motion carried. Ayes (7), Nays (0) 2026 City of Hayward Water & Sewer Utility Budget Budget Hearing – 2026 City of Hayward Water & Sewer Utility Budget A public hearing was held regarding the 2026 City of Hayward Water & Sewer Utility Budget. Clerk Poppe stated that the proposed budget included estimated costs for the Railroad Street Reconstruction Project, schedule for 2026, and a new gate for the wastewater treatment plant. Approval of the City of Hayward Water & Sewer Utility Budget Ald. Miller made a motion, seconded by Ald. Hill, to approve and adopt the 2026 City of Hayward Water & Sewer Utility Budget as presented. Roll call vote: Ald. Herrmann – yes; Ald. Hill – yes; Ald. Hofer - yes; Ald. Kreyer – yes; Ald. Miller – yes; Ald. Swan – yes; Ald. Williamson – yes. Motion carried. Ayes (7), Nays (0) Adjournment Ald. Swan made a motion, seconded by Ald. Kreyer, to adjourn the meeting.
