Meeting Minutes

Minutes for the August 2025 regular board meeting Chairman Kevin Hoyer called the meeting to order at 7:30PM. Roll call was taken Chairman Kevin Hoyer, Supervisors Mark Dummer and Chase Aleckson and Clerk/Treasurer Katie Reding were all present. Minutes from the July 8th, 2025 board meeting were read. Dummer made the motion to approve as read. Aleckson made the 2nd. Motion carried. The agenda was read/ Aleckson motioned to approve the agenda and Dummer made the second. Motion Carried. Chairman Remarks - Hoyer stated the Speed Resolution proposal for reducing the speed limit for Hwy M will go in front of the LaCrosse County board in the next few months. Miller Tree service was hired to take care of a large tree on Hidden River Road. Steve Mader was present requesting a rezone for parcel # 07-00038-000. Discussion was had and reviewed the request. Supervisor Mark Dummer made a motion to change parcel # 07-00038-000 at W3144 Co Rd B West Salem zoning to general industrial. Supervisor Chase Aleckson made the second motion. All in favor. Motion carried. Aaron Bolstad was present and requesting a rezoning request for parcel # 07-00783-000 for N6008 Nelson Rd West Salem to change from rural ag to general ag. Supervisor Chase Aleckson made a motion to approve this request. Supervisor Mark Dummer made the second motion. All in favor. Motion carried. Bolstad requested a CUP to place a 4,000 square ft building Aleckson made the motion to approve. Dummer made the second. Motion Carried. Mississippi Mayhem requested a picnic license for September 12-14, 2025 taking place at the LaCrosse Interstate Fairgrounds N4985 County Road M West Salem, WI 54669. Dummer made a motion to approve. Aleckson made the 2nd. Motion carried. Theresa DeLong was present from the Shorewood addition asking for permission to receive Park Equipment from the West Salem School District and install it in the Neshonoc Shorewood park. Dummer made the motion to approve. Aleckson made the second. Motion carried. The offer from 3 in 1 construction for $825,000 for the N5105 Leonard St. West Salem was reviewed. Aleckson made a motion to accept this offer. Mark Dummer made the second. Motion carried. Dummer made a motion to allow Smokey the Bear Fire Danger sign to be installed at the New Town Hall location at N5281 State Road 108 West Salem. Aleckson made the second. Motion carried. Road Report and Zoning The new tractor/mower from Johnson Tractor will be here by the end of the week. Mowing was being done with the tip down mower. The plow truck for sale hasn't had any action. Will look into other options to sell. Starting to look at new tires for the 1 ton truck. Looking into a sub contractor to do some maintenance on our equipment on site. Recycle Center nothing to report. Financial Report Reding handed out the financial Report and Checks written report for the month. Aleckson made a motion to accept. Dummer made the second. Motion carried. Dummer made a motion to put the Fire District Reserve balance into a 12 month CD at Union State Bank. Aleckson made the second. Motion carried. Pay Monthly Bills Aleckson made a motion to pay the bills presented. Dummer made the second. Motion Carried. Aleckson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:26 PM. Dummer made the second.
