Meeting Minutes

Minutes for the May 14, 2024 board meeting, Chairman Blaine Lee called the May 14, 2024 regular board meeting to order at 7:30 pm and asked everyone in attendance to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken. Chairman Blaine Lee, Supervisor Paul Degenhardt, Supervisor Kevin Hoyer and Clerk/Treasurer Katie Reding were all in attendance. Blaine Lee read the agenda. Kevin Hoyer made a motion to approve the agenda as read. Paul Degenhardt made the second motion. Motion carried. Katie Reding read the minutes from the April board meeting. Paul Degenhardt made a motion to approve the minutes as read. Kevin Hoyer made the second motion. Motion carried. Caycee Bean from Top Dog Retreat, LLC was present and was requesting a beer license to sell beer at her new business located on County Rd B. Discussion was had with details regarding more information about her plans and what her business is about. Blaine Lee makes a motion to approve the class B license for Top Dog Retreat, LLC and if any other events that would change the venue would come up that she would need to come in front of the board. Paul Degenhardt made the second motion. Motion Carried. Ben Taschner from came in front of the board regarding mowing the lawn at the Linse Rd Park West Salem, WI 54669. Kevin motioned to table this until next month until more information regarding liability insurance is found. Paul Degenhardt made the second motion. Motion carried. Jennifer Westlie appeared in front of the Town of Hamilton board on behalf of Kate Peak and Elizabeth Henricksen regarding parcel # 7-931-1 Lot 1 is requesting a zoning change from Ag District to residential district for a future single family residential home on Old Hwy 16 West Salem. The Town board has no issues with this request and is asking when they are ready to put the driveway in the board needs to review the driveway, Supervisor Kevin Hoyer made a motion to approve, and Supervisor Paul Degenhardt made the second motion. Motion carried. A letter was sent to the County of LaCrosse Zoning department. Nate Anderegg from Maple Grove Venues, LLC W4142 County Rd B West Salem came in front of the Town of Hamilton board requesting approval from the Town Board for a large assembly. They plan to have a rock concert on June 27th, 2024 occurring between the hours of 4:30pm – 11pm. No camping is going to be available for this event. The Town board does not have any issues with this. Blaine Lee made a motion to approve this large assembly for the rock concert. Paul Degenhardt made the second. Motion carried. A letter was sent to sheriff Mike Hortsmann Ethan Modawell 373 Panther Pass W. West Salem appeared in front of the Town of Hamilton board regarding his parcel # 7-333-0 on 1.1 acres is requesting a zoning change from Ag District to residential district for a future single family residential home on Pleasant Valley Rd West Salem. After reviewing this parcel and seeing it doesn’t affect any crop land or neighbors Chairman Blaine Lee made a motion to approve, and Supervisor Paul Degenhardt made the second motion. Motion carried. A letter was sent to the County of LaCrosse Zoning department. Boston Goodenough N4773 Linse Rd West Salem, WI 54669 came in front of the Board looking for the board to approve a Certified Survey Map for lots 1, 2, 3 & 4 off of Linse Rd West Salem, WI 54669. The board has no concerns.Supervisor Paul Degenhardt made a motion to accept the CSM and Supervisor Kevin Hoyer made the second. Motion Carried. A letter was sent to the County of LaCrosse Zoning department. CBS, Squared. Inc (grant writer ) Paul Degenhardt made a motion to hire CBS Squared to start looking for grants for the Township. Kevin Hoyer made the second. Motion carried. Resolution for relocating the polling place. Paul Degenhardt made a motion to adopt the Resolution # 2024.5 to relocate the polling place to the New Town Hall site at N5281 State Hwy 108 West Salem, WI 54669 Kevin Hoyer made the second. Motion carried. Road Report and Zoning Blaine Lee brought up that the truck went in the shop and the motor needs to be replaced. Gravel from Milestone materials is being delivered and the road crew is using it along our town roads. Olympic Builders is requesting payment # 15 for the amount of $84,908.85. Kevin Hoyer made a motion to pay this amount. Paul Degenhardt made the second motion. Motion carried. Recycle Center Everything is going well. New Town Hall items to purchase. Kevin Hoyer made a motion to have a limit of $10,000.00 for office and hall furniture for the New Town Hall. Blaine Lee made the second. Motion carried. Katie Reding handed out the check report for checks written in April and the bank balance. Kevin Hoyer made a motion to approve the reports. Paul Degenhardt made the second. Motion carried. Kevin Hoyer made a motion to pay the bills. Paul Degenhardt made the second. Motion carried. Paul Degenhardt made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:25pm and Kevin Hoyer made the second.
