Board of Review — Minutes

BOARD OF REVIEW * THURSDAY, MAY 22, 2025 * 1:00 O’CLOCK P.M. The Board of Review for the City of Augusta, Augusta, WI was called to order by City Clerk Cynthia Anderegg at 1:08 pm. Present were Board members Sue Troxel, Robert Chaffee, Brian Leslin, and Cynthia Anderegg. Also present was Assessor Jason Winters, Bowmar Appraisals. Absent: Jason TePaske, Lisa Fugett, and Brian Abley. Notices of this meeting were posted at 3 places and the door of City Hall on April 22, 2025. The Augusta Post Office, Lance’s Fresh Market, and the Augusta Memorial Public Library. A notice was published in The Ad-Delite in the April 22, 2025 issue. Motion by Troxel seconded Chaffee to appoint Cynthia Anderegg as Clerk for the Board of Review. Motion carried. Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to appoint Sue Troxel as Chairperson of the Board of Review. Motion carried. Motion by Leslin seconded by Anderegg to appoint Robert Chaffee as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Review. Motion carried. Clerk Anderegg certified that all training requirements were fulfilled for certification. The following have completed Board of Review training in 2025 prior to the BOR’s first meeting: Robert Chaffee, Brain Leslin, and Cynthia Anderegg. Chairperson Troxel verified that City ordinance 14.06 provides for confidentiality of information about income and expenses that is provided to the assessor. Motion by Leslin seconded by Chaffee to adopt policy on Procedure for Sworn Telephone or Sworn Written Testimony Requests. Motion carried. Motion by Anderegg seconded by Leslin to adopt policy on Procedure for Waiver of Board of Review Hearing Requests. Motion carried. Assessor Jason Winters read in to record the Assessor’s Affidavit. Clerk Anderegg verified that the Assessor’s Affidavit was signed and attached to the 2025 Assessment Roll. Clerk Anderegg swore in Assessor Jason Winters. Certify all corrections of error under state law: There were no corrections. Review Notices of Intent to File Objection: There were no objections filed No objectors are currently present. Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to call the meeting to go into recess until an objector is present. Chairperson Troxel called the meeting out of recess at 3:00 pm. No objections were heard. Motion by Chaffee seconded by Anderegg to adjourn Board of Review. Motion carried and Board adjourned at 3:00 p.m. Cynthia Anderegg, Clerk
