CITY COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY DECEMBER 10, 2024 7:00 P.M. Council President Sue Troxel called the Regular meeting of the Augusta City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were council members Mayor Jason TePaske (via Phone), Sue Troxel, Patricia Wessel, Bob Chaffee, and Brian Leslin. Also present were Kasandra Thompson, Leslie LaRose, and Cynthia Anderegg. Absent: Gordon O’Brien and Scott Williamson Vacant: Ward 2. Pledge of Allegiance ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PROPER POSTING A notice of the meeting and an agenda were posted at the three public places, and the local newspaper was notified. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Leslin seconded by Chaffee to approve the agenda. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Wessel seconded by Leslin to approve the minutes for the November 12th City Council Meeting and the Special Budget meeting & Hearing on November 26th. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None APPROVAL OF DEPARMENT REPORTS Motion by Leslin seconded by Wessel to receive the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried. Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to receive the Police Department Report. Motion carried. Motion by Chaffee seconded by Wessel to receive the Senior Center Report. Motion carried. Motion by Leslin seconded by Chaffee to receive the Library Report. Motion carried. Motion by Wessel seconded by Leslin to receive the Public Works Department Report. Motion carried. The following Augusta Bridge Creek Fire Department Minutes were available for review: October 2024. APPROVE LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION FOR J & S SALES, DBA EXPRESS MART Motion by Wessel seconded by Leslin to approve the “Class A” Liquor License application and grant said license to J & S Sales of Chippewa Falls, LLC dba Express Mart for the remainder of the licensing period ending June 30, 2025. Motion carried. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION FOR B&B ELECTRIC – PUMPHOUSE #11 Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to approve the Certificate of Substantial Completion for B&B Electric for the Pumphouse/Treatment #11, Proposal #2: Electrical & Controls - Well #11 Project. Roll call vote: Ward 1, yes; Ward 2, Vacant; Ward 3, yes; Ward 4, yes; Ward 5, yes. Motion carried. Date of Substantial Completion was September 1, 2024. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF FINAL PAY APPLICATION #13 FOR B&B ELECTRIC – PUMPHOUSE #11 Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to approve the Final pay application (#13) for B&B Electric for the Pumphouse/Treatment #11, Proposal #2: Electrical & Controls - Well #11 Project in the amount of $12,779.85. Roll call vote: Ward 1, yes; Ward 2, Vacant; Ward 3, yes; Ward 4, yes; Ward 5, yes. Motion carried. . DISCUSS THE SEWER SLUDGE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to Table discussion until the January meeting. Motion carried. REVIEW FEE SCHEDULE FOR CITY LICENSES, PERMITS, AND FINES Motion by Chaffee seconded by Leslin to send to Finance Committee for review and evaluation. Motion carried. REQUEST TO CLOSE CITY HALL ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26TH Motion by Leslin seconded by Wessel to close City Hall on Tuesday, December 26, 2024. Motion carried.
