TOWN OF PLEASANT V ALLEY July 14, 2025 TOWN BOARD MEETING CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Doug Nelson called a Town Board Meeting of the Town of Pleasant Valley to order on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the Pleasant Valley Town Hall in Cleghorn at 7:00 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairman Doug Nelson called to honor our flag with the Pledge of Allegiance. INTRODUCTION OF TOWN OFFICIALS The board members present were Chairman Doug Nelson and Supervisor Megan Bechel. The staff members present were Jen Meyer, Clerk/Treasurer, Kelsey Ebert, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer, and Highway Foreman Wyatt Wathke. CONFIRMATION OF PROPER POSTING Clerk/Treasurer Jen Meyer confirmed that the meeting was posted properly, more than 48 hours ahead of its scheduled time, on the Town's webpage and the Town Hall posting board, as required by state statute. PROCEDURES Motion (Nelson/Bechel) to dispense with the reading of and approve the June 9, 2025, Town board meeting minutes. Chairman Nelson announced that the ayes carried 2-0, and the motion was carried. Motion (Bechel/Nelson) to approve the treasurer's report for June 2025 as presented and printed. Chairman Nelson announced the ayes carried 2-0, and the motion was carried. LETTERS & REPORTS Town Chairman -Balsam Rd prep work is looking good. Paving should begin this week. Town Supervisors -none Town Highway Supervisor -Mowing is complete -Blade patching of Johnson Rd will begin this week -The 5-year plan may be adjusted to move Lowes Creek Road higher on the priority list -The pressure washer needs repair work Town Clerk/Treasurer -A draft of the next newsletter was shared. Megan gave suggestions. Approval will be in August. -A letter was sent to the garbage haulers regarding garbage can placement on the traveled portion of the road. -The DNR is investigating the wetland disturbance in Cleghorn. Park/Historical Committee/Lions Club/TFD updates Updates given by Jen in Frank’s absence: -The fence company should be submitting the required documents this week -Pickleball courts were discussed in the past with little interest -A group of ball players is considering building a fan deck. One of the ball teams has plans and is willing to construct a deck. The plans, including financial plans, need to be presented to the park committee and the town board. REVIEW/APPROVE ORDERS The bills /orders for July 2025 and the alternative of claims paid report were presented by the clerk and approved by the town board for payment.
