1 TOWN OF PLEASANT VALLEY September 11 2023 TOWN BOARD MEETING CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Dan Hanson called a Town Board Meeting of the Town of Pleasant Valley to order on Monday, September 11, 2023, in the Pleasant Valley Town Hall in Cleghorn at 7:00 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairman Hanson called for recognition, honor and respect for the victims and rescuers involved in the attacks on our country on September 11, 2001. Chairman Hanson called for the honoring of our flag with the Pledge of Allegiance. INTRODUCTION OF TOWN OFFICIALS Board members present: Chairman Dan Hanson, Supervisor Dan Green, and Supervisor Doug Nelson. Staff members present: Jen Meyer, Clerk/Treasurer and Hwy Foreman, Wyatt Wathke. PROCEDURES Motion (Green/Nelson) to dispense with the reading of the Aug 14 Town Board Meeting minutes and approve as printed. Chairman announced the ayes carry 3-0 and the motion is carried. Motion (Nelson/Green) to approve the Treasurers report for the month of August 2023 as presented and printed. Chairman announced the ayes carry 3-0 and the motion is carried. LETTERS & REPORTS Town Chairman - Dan attended the county LRIP meeting. The Town will be awarded $33,000 in LRIP-entitlement money for 2024. The project will be Redwood Dr. -There has been a disgusting act of vandalism directed at the Town Board on the Juniper Ridge sign in the Town. Town Supervisors -none Town Highway Supervisor -mowing has begun -blade patching of Popple Rd is complete -additional blade patching will occur when materials are available Cedar Rd update- an email was received from Cedar Corp with options. The Board discussed the options. A response letter will be sent with an acceptable resolution indicated. Town Clerk/Treasurer -The Town has received scoping and review services through the CTRIC pilot project. Balsam Rd will be the project applied for. Park Committee/Lions Club/TFD CITIZEN INPUT COMPLAINTS OLD BUSINESS September 11, 2023 meeting minutes con’t 2 NEW BUSINESS EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN – RESOLUTION NO. 23-16-12 The final Emergency Operations Plan was provided to the board. Motion (Nelson/Green) to approve the Emergency Operations Plan. Chairman announced the ayes carry 3-0 and the motion is adopted. BUDGET AMENDMENT – RESOLUTION NO. 23-16-13 A resolution amending the 2023 budget was presented. Motion (Green/Nelson) to approve Resolution No. 23-16-13 Chairman announced the ayes carry 3-0 and the motion is adopted. Set 2024 Budget Dates The budget workshop will be October 25 at 10am. The budget public hearing and special electors meeting will be November 14th at 7pm. Motion (Nelson/Green) to approve the upcoming meeting dates. Chairman announced the ayes carry 3-0 and the motion is adopted. 2023 BUDGET REVIEW The budget as of September 11, 2023, was presented and reviewed. REVIEW/APPROVE ORDERS The bills /orders for the month of August 2023 and the alternative of claims paid report were presented by the clerk and approved by the town board for payment. ADJOURNMENT Motion (Hanson/Nelson) to move this meeting is adjourned. Chairman announced the ayes carry 3-0 and the motion is adopted.
