1 Board Meeting May 13, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Chair Jennifer Meyer. Flag Salute Adopt Agenda: Supervisor Mona Mathews made a motion to adopt agenda and be able to move around for those that must leave. Supervisor Megan Bischel seconded the motion. All voted yes, motion carried. Attendance: Chair Jennifer Meyer, Supervisor Megan Bischel, Supervisor Jeff Whyte, and Supervisor Mona Mathews all in attendance. Supervisor Paul Travis was absent. Approve Minutes: April 8th meeting minutes: Supervisor Mona Mathews made a motion to approve. Chair Jennifer Meyer seconded the motion. All voted yes, motion carried. Comp Plan: No Applications. Town Board did approve new officers appointed to the Board. Supervisor Megan Bischel made a motion to approve officers. Supervisor Mona Mathews seconded the motion. All voted yes, motion carried. Visit Eau Claire : - Report sent electronically. Park Commission: - Monthly meeting update: Barb Kleist was in attendance. Barb Kleist mentioned that they had a discussion on future playground Equipment for the Conservancy. Fall event at Conservancy is October 25th. Town of Union Fire Station did spray down and scrub the pavilion ceiling. Ordered sign asking not to put bags of dog feces in fire pit. Chair Jennifer Meyer will contact Eau Claire County to see what Permits are needed for the vault toilet at Conservancy. Fire Station #3: - Monthly report / Battalion Chief Eddie Yates not in attendance. Chair Jennifer Meyer mentioned that they did have a couple Structure fires. EMS did assist with crash on North Crossing. City of Colfax asked for mutual aid for a fire. 2 Town of Brunswick has new engine and back up was sold. Roads: - County Line Rd./updates: Grant has been received. Have to remind Haas and Sons to fix the pond at Menards. Haas and Sons will also fix any standing water sitting in resident’s yards. Dennis Mack; Cedar Corp states private property markers ARE in place. (Property Land Survey System). - Eau Claire County Highway finished crack filling that started Monday, April 17th. - Any other road business – Violation from Eau Claire County for Kane Rd. Metropolitan Planning Organization: - Nate and Sara attended SSA meeting went over cost effectiveness for new sewers. 2 – 3 meetings left for this year. - Any other updates - None Public Comment The purpose of public comment is to provide members of the public with an opportunity to present information to the Board. It is not intended for interactive debate. There will be no response or comment from the Town of Union Board Supervisors. Wis Stat §19.84(2) Utility Applications: - None Review and Approve: - Monthly expenditures: Clerk Beverly Christopherson handed out the Payables report. Supervisor Mona Mathews made a motion to approve as presented to the Board and to add Fast Signs invoice. Chair Jennifer Meyer seconded the motion. All voted yes, motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: - Treasurer John McLaughlin; monthly financials report handed out. John McLaughlin mentioned that grant reimbursement has been received. Will see what money is in account and transfer some back to sweep account. CT form has been amended and refiled. Licenses: - No applications 3 Town Properties: - Conservancy electrical panel damage / repair updates, Supervisor Paul Travis will fix. - Town of Union Board to review Municipal Code Fee Schedule / discussion next month. Town lawn mower, mower is broken and not working. Will have to see how big a mower will fit in shed at town hall. Supervisor Mona Mathews made a motion to purchase a lawn mower for not more than $8,00.00. Chair Jennifer Meyer seconded the motion. All voted yes, motion carried. Need to fix shed at Town Hall, needs a bigger door and new ramp. Chair Jennifer Meyer made a motion to make needed improvements to shed at Town Hall for not more than $2,000.00. Supervisor Jeff Whyte seconded. All voted yes, motion carried.
