Park Commission Minutes October 2, 2024 Meeting called to order 9:35am Commission members in attendance: Fred Belay, Jennifer Meyer, Kathy Alf, Tom Roach, Barb Kleist, Dean Kallenbach, and Tony Bischel Adopt agenda; motion made by Fred/sec Tom and passed Approval of September 4, 2024 minutes; motion made by Jennifer/sec Dean and passed Financial Report Total expenses paid in September $ 2,317.98 Total year to date $ 17,741.46 Town of Union Treasurer Report dated August 14, 2024 shows Visit EC Dest. & Dev balance $ 26,872.81 Nicolet non-profit checking $ 2,142.26 Motion to approve financial report made by Dean/ sec Jennifer and passed Work log hours to approve: Fred 8.0 hours @ $15 total $ 120.00 maintenance at Conservancy September 9, 16, 23 Tom 8.0 hours @ $15 total $ 120.00 maintenance at Conservancy September 9, 16, 23 Invoices to approve: Chippewa Valley Sporting Goods Invoice #277504 Logo shirts $ 56.00 Donation to Pleasant Hill Go Getters 4H Club Sherman Park clean up $ 1,000.00 Quality Quick Print Invoice # 318850 Fall Event mailer to Town residents $ 804.26 Motion to approve work log and invoices made by Kathy/ sec Tom and passed Parks Discussion Sherman Creek Park Pleasant Hill Go Getters 4H Club did a fall clean up at Sherman Creek Park. Aylen Bain Memorial update- We are waiting for the group to submit wordage for the temporary sign that will announce project. Jennifer will email the Town Clerk so she is aware a check is being mailed by the group and it is deposited to the appropriate account. The approach area in front of the park has been taken care of by the city of Eau Claire. Conservancy Eau Claire Outdoors held their poetry hike on September 28, approximately 40 people attended. Blue Ox will be doing trail maintenance next week. The Fall Event will take place Saturday, October 19 1-4pm. Old Business Motion to assign Dean to represent the Park Commission on the Visit Eau Claire board made by Fred/ sec Tom and passed New Business Budget development for 2025 was discussed.
