TOWN OF STAR PRAIRIE WORK SESSION - MINUTES THURSDAY, JUNE 11, 2026 – 4:00 P.M. STAR PRAIRIE TOWN HALL 2118 COOK DRIVE SOMERSET, WISCONSIN The Town Work Session was called to order by Tom Heintz at 4:03 p.m. in the Star Prairie Town Hall: 2118 Cook Drive, Somerset, WI 54025. Present: Tom Heintz, Darryl Wendt, Michele Hermansen, Brian Duggan and Bob Crotty. Clerk/Treasurer Andrea Neumann and Nancy Karastes were in attendance. Old Town Hall Roof : Board reviewed pictures of the new roof on the Old Town Hall and expressed concern regarding the color variation in some of the shingles. Clerk is waiting to hear back from the contractor. Town Hall Parking Lot - Repair : Board reviewed proposals and agreed to move forward with crack-sealing (versus resurfacing) the parking lot through Quality Sealcoating. Clerk to send confirmation. Town Website Upgrade : Town’s website is due for an upgrade (at no additional cost). Clerk to confirm proposal with vendor. Hall Rental - Advance Access : Board discussed use of Town Hall and how to address requests for additional/advance access for events. At this time, the Board suggested granting early access for setup by forfeiting the deposit. Oakland Cemetery Damage : Board reviewed images from cemetery damages and estimate received from Kusz Kontracting for initial cleanup. Nancy Karastes expects an estimate from Melgard Monuments for marker restoration and repair. Clerk to submit images and estimates to the insurance company. Copier Replacement : Existing copier unit was identified as end-of-life for support and maintenance. Board reviewed proposal for refurbished copier unit. The current unit is working well and the Town will request updated proposals once it no longer meets our needs. Town Park Planning : Town is interested in having a memorial to the armed services at the Town park, similar to what’s at Baldwin. Apple River Boat Landing : Reviewed proposal and design submitted by St. Croix County Highway Department. Clerk to add item to next Town Board meeting for consideration. Clerk Professional Development & Office Hours : Clerk is out of the office the week of June 29th. University of Wisconsin Green Bay Clerk’s & Treasurer’s Institute is the week of July 13. The institute is virtual, and Clerk will be in/out of the office that week. In-person absentee voting starts Tuesday, July 28 for the August 11 Partisan Primary Election. Town Roads & Maintenance : Discussed ongoing road maintenance and tree trimming. Adjourn : Motion to adjourn M/S by Michele Hermansen/Brian Duggan.
