CITY OF GILLETT PARKS & CEMETERY COMMITTEE MEETING Council Chambers – Municipal Building 150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124 PARKS & CEMETERY COMMITTEE – June 30, 2016 Page 1 WEDNESDAY, JULY 27, 2016 – 3:45 PM MINUTES Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order at 3:45 PM. Roll Call Present: Alderpersons Marilyn Mueller and Marie Blaser. Nanette Mohr was excused. Also Present: Mayor William Pecha, Deputy Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Henkel and Public Works Foreman Shane Rank. Public present was Amy Umentum. Clerk informs Committee that Open Meeting Law has been complied with and Roll has been taken. Approval of Minutes – Committee meeting on 6-30-2016. MOTION: Blaser/Mueller Motion to approve the minutes from the Parks & Cemetery Committee meeting on June 30, 2016. Voice Vote: All voting aye - MOTION CARRIED PUBLIC INPUT: Amy Umentum suggested that all Parks agendas be sent to the Diamond Club so they can attend, Clerk will send all agendas to the Diamond Club. Mayor read a complimentary letter to the committee about how great Orby Jones Sports Complex is, and what a wonderful facility we have. The Diamond Club asked if it would be possible to run water to diamond 3. It will be on the next agenda. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: 1. Memorial Lot Plaques MOTION: Blaser/Mueller Motion to grant permission to the Historical Society to put the new plaques in the Memorial Lot. Voice Vote: All voting aye – MOTION CARRIED 2. Quotes for Cemetery Maintenance MOTION: Blaser/Mueller Motion to accept Cory & Co. Landscaping Services quote for 2017-2018 Cemetery Lawn Maintenance needs at $645.00 per time. Voice Vote: All voting aye – MOTION CARRIED 3. Quotes for fertilization of all city parks MOTION: Blaser/Mueller Motion to accept Cory & Co. Landscaping Services quote for 2017-2018 fertilization of all city parks and Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery at quoted prices per time. Roll Call Vote: Blaser and Mueller voting aye-Mohr Excused – MOTION CARRIED 4. Budget Preparation Budget for 2017 completed, please see worksheets. 5. Adjournment at 5:15 PM.
