CITY OF GILLETT COMMON COUNCIL
Council Chambers – Municipal Building
150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124
TUESDAY, JULY 7, 2026 AT 6:00 PM
MINUTES
1. Council President Keri Hicks called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call
Present: Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Anderson, Alderpersons Nanette Mohr, Keri Hicks, Jerry Luther,
Ashley VanStraten, Utility Operator Matt Wickman, Public Works Department Head Tim Via, Police
Chief Shane Breitenbach , Fire Chief Kurt Hicks , and Librarian Aid Ann Ammerman. Public Kelly
Roberts and Terry Daniels.
Excused: Librarian Shannon Stone r, Alderperson David Bunker , Mayor Jon Blaskowski , City
Attorney Robert Gagon, and Alderperson Matt Young.
3. Clerk Treasurer informs the Council that the Open Meeting Law has been complied with.
4. Public Input: Kelly Roberts manages apartments on Robinhood Lane. There are many problems with
ATV’s and UTV’s using their yard as a bypass around the Texas blocks in the road. She has p ut up
barriers, and they have removed them to get by . The City moved the barriers to allow larger UTV’s
through, now they are going too fast. Another issue of d ogs running loose, not leashed. Speed bumps
could be a possibility; city will look into cost. If driving on private property and speeding doesn’t
stop, the City will make Robinhood Lane a dead end to UTV/ATVs. It is currently a dead -end road
but we leave access to UTV’s to get to a business. Will ask DOT if UTV’s can use the highway
instead of Robinhood to get to the business.
Terry Daniels lives on Washington Street, so far has killed 7 rats, now she sees babies. Clerk’s office
has received several complaints of rats in the area. Clerk’s Of fice sent out pamphlets to the entire area
on rodent control, called DOT for input as the cause seems to be the vibration from the road
construction on HWY 22, and called Health and Human services. An exterminator may need to be
brought in if the homeowner prefers.

Vehicle Operations) certification.
This month I represented the Gillett Police Department at the annual employee orientation meeting at
Seneca Foods. I was tasked with educating the traveling workers on city rules, laws, schedules, and
behavioral expectations. The Gillett Police Department continues to maintain a great working
relationship with all of the Seneca Foods team!

for our event! The flyers will be going up soon. If anyone would like some flyers to distribute, please
let me know!

was a success with minimal crowd related issues. On July 3rd- 4th the Gillett Fourth of July
