CITY OF OCONTO FALLS COMMON COUNCIL – Special Meeting Council Chambers – Municipal Building 500 N. Chestnut Avenue - Oconto Falls, WI 54154 MONDAY, JULY 30, 2018 – 11:00 AM MINUTES Meeting called to order at 11:00 AM by Mayor Brad Rice. Roll Call Present: Mayor Brad Rice, Aldermen: Kevin Rusch, Jay Kostreva, Devin Wirtz, Marty Coopman, and Mathew McDermid Excused: Tim Holman Also present: Administrator Vicki Roberts, Deputy Clerk Nancy Brye, Street Foreman Gerry Lemirande, Utility Manager Greg Kuhn, and Koren Poradek DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: A. Cherry Street. On June 12, 2018, council approved the county’s quote in the amount of $62,572.50 to pulverize, prep, and pave Cherry Street from Highland Drive to Quincy Street. The county has started the project and pulverizing has been done. It was mentioned that we should reconsider an extension on Cherry Street to just South of Franklin Street. Quotes were sought out from the county and presented to extend the project. Curb and gutter was not included in the county’s quotes, therefore additional funds will be needed for this. MOTION: McDermid / Rusch Motion to accept the county’s quote in the amount of $32,679.50 to extend the previously approved Cherry Street paving project up to just South of Franklin Street; and approve an additional $26,000 on curb & gutter for the entire Cherry Street project. Roll CallVote: McDermid-yes, Rusch-yes, Kostreva-yes, Wirtz-yes, Coopman-yes, Holman- absent - MOTION CARRIED B. Adjournment. Mayor Rice asked if there was any further business before the meeting is adjourned.
