MINUTES MONDAY, JANUARY 12, 2026 TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF OCONTO 6120 CREAM CITY ROAD, OCONTO, WI 54153 1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 5:46 by Chairman Scanlan. Present: Clerk Scanlan, Supervisor Pansier, Supervisor Van Hulle, Treasurer Leonard, Others present see attendance sheet. 2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve as printed. M/C 4. Approve minutes December 8, 2025, meeting. Motion by Van Hulle 2nd by Scanlan M/C 5. Treasurer’s report: General Checking: Treasurer reported a starting balance of $164,133.36 and December deposits of $1,035.87; January orders total $33,646.14 leaving an ending balance of $131,523.09. Approval of overpayment refund of $20 Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve refund payment, tax collection software agreement directing Mandy to sign, and Treasurer’s report. M/C 6. Tree removal at recycling center. N & A Tree Service LLC will cut dead trees and lay trees down at recycling center. Discussion held. Motion by Pansier, 2nd by Van Hulle to approve. M/C 7. Approve Orders for payment: Clerk presented ACH for $1,252.36 for payroll taxes order # 6790 through 6817 which total $33,646.14. Total January tax settlement payments $1,055,453.25, ending balance in tax account $6,171.26 Motion by Pansier 2nd by VanHulle to approve orders for payment. M/C 8. Correspondence Received The clerk completed 2 title search forms. Wendy Diehlman, 4914 County Rd N, sent voter registration card back to clerk for a Michael Richard Lindberg registering at that same address. Fraud! Clerk turned over to County Clerk. County Clerk turned over to sheriff’s office for investigation. Will keep updated. Certificate of Insurance received for Oconto County. Permit for Cook Road was received and completed. R & R Assessing sent year 2025 paid in full notice. Wisconsin Department of Transportation sent 2026 Finance calculation summary $165,310.60. Email of denial letter received from Department of Safety and Professional Services regarding R and D Plus LLC, 5396 Funk Rd. time frame expired 12-5-25 and plan review is incomplete (non-compliance with code requirements) 9. Comprehensive Planning Committee: No meeting 10. Board of Commissioners Public Land Loan for Military Road project. Discussion held. Will review monthly. Page 2 11. Road Work: Town of Oconto project for Maple Grove School Road is ranked first on the LRIP/TRIS program list. 12. County Board update: County going to hire attorney for the solar farm issue (Town of Morgan) 13. Public comments: Clerk informed board there will be no February primary needed. 14. Adjourned 6.20 pm.
