No more SAG funding available for 2027. A low bid of $181,000 was received from Peters Concrete bid. UDAG funding was explored and is not an option. Mayor Berman presented two options for consideration. The first option is to borrow for the demolition of the property in the near future and place the expense on the tax roll. The second option is to attempt to obtain brownfield grant funding with an uncertain time for demolition in the next few years. The affect on property taxes for a $200,000 loan was estimated to be approximately $90 per $100,000 assessed value for one year. Approximately $29,000 is remaining from the WEDC grant, which is eligible to be used towards demolition. Concerns were voiced regarding safety around the deteriorating building.
