4) Economic Development Position and Crivitz Guide: Discussion: President Grandaw discussed
how the CRA was now not on board with giving the village the guide and how the guide may not
cover the position according to the CRA. Clerk Deschane went through the income and expense
number that would cover the cost of the position with the guide and flea markets. John Guarisco
from the CRA stated that the guide would not transfer to the village and that the village should
budget to pay for the position from the general fund but encouraged the village to use the
counties economic and tourism office for anything we need. Trustee Deschane stated that while
the county office does a good job they are swamped and having an extra person would be
beneficial. Trustee Dorschner stated that we could work with other municipalities like Lake and
Middle Inlet to promote the area and cover the cost of the position without the guide. Trustee
Strandt stated he would prefer to stay local. Autumn Timblin from Marinette County Economic
and Tourism stated that she would love to work with the village to promote anything that we
need. The discussion is tabled until the Town of Stephenson decides if they are willing to split
the cost of the position.
