MINUTES Zoning Board of Appeals August 7th, 2024 Public Present: Scott & Mari Fohey, George Fohey, Amy Grandaw 1) Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm 2) Roll Call: Members present: Charlie DeSmidt (arrived 5:12) Lewis Strupp Greg Weber (arrived 5:20) Scott Busick Damon roman Also present: Clerk/Treasurer Kaitlin Deschane 3) Adoption of Agenda: Motion by Trustee Lewis Strupp, seconded by Trustee Scott Busick, to adopt the agenda as presented. Ayes:4, Nays:0 Motion Passed. 4) Verification of Notice & Publication Requirements: The notice of hearing were posted and published on July 24th, 2024 and July 31st, 2024 in accordance with state law. 5) Variance for lots 121-1576, 121-1577, and 121-1578: Discussion on approving a barndominium. Scott Fohey was sworn in to provide more information on the project, stated he is a semi truck driver and needs 65 ft to store the truck inside. It will only be used for storage not for major repairs or work on the truck. Clerk Deschane stated that Jane has not problems but has two stipulations, dissolve the center lot line and rezoning parcel 121-1578. The Middleton’s spoke with her and have not issues with the project. 6) Closed Session – Deliberation: Motion by Trustee Lewis Strupp, seconded by Trustee Greg Weber, to move to closed session. Ayes:5, Nays:0 Motion Passed. 7) Reconvene in Open Session: Motion by Trustee Lewis Strupp, seconded by Trustee Greg Weber, to reconvene in open session. Clerk Deschane read the verdict - Unnecessary hardship is present in limited attached garage square footage due to need for storage of semis and the limit would limit the usability of the property for the owner. The issuance of a variance to increase the attached garage square footage limit will sufficiently correct this hardship. Ayes:5, Nays:0 Motion Passed. 8) Adjourn: Motion by Trustee Greg Weber, seconded by Trustee Lewis Strupp, to adjourn the meeting at 5:21pm.
