a. Carol Orwig stated that the PFAS signage is to notify people of known health issues, but
are missing. She also stated that per the DNR, JCI/Tyco is responsible for advisory signs in
affected areas. She asked- where are the signs and/or who took them?
i. Judith Johnson: Leaf Road sign is still there, but there is foliage growing around it.
ii. Cindy Baur stated John Kowalski has a document, from her when she was on the
board, with sign locations. There should be one in her previous email as well.
iii. Supervisor Kowalski knows where he helped install them, but does not believe
he has a document stating the physical sign locations.
iv. Supervisor Furton stated the prior Water Committee knows of the locations.
b. Wendel Johnson encouraged the board to tighten up the public nuisance ordinance to
include light pollution, as it greatly affects the health of humans and wildlife.
c. Cindy Baur told the board that the PFAS sign locations may be in her old emails. She said
if the removal of signs was authorized, please post it. If the removal was not, that is theft.
Baur also notified that someone was on the Kowalski Walking Trail doing work and saying
they were ‘hired by the Town’. She is concerned with why the Town Hall bid remodel was
only noticed for 1 week. Baur questioned if a permit was obtained for rip rap placed at the
Shore Drive Boat Launch property.

i. Wendel Johnson is unaware of work being done at Kowalski Walking Trail, but
does believe DNR will be doing work there next Spring. He also gave credit to Keith
for doing a great job with the upkeep on the Trail.
d. Mimi Schahczenski stated ‘Team Boyle’ lost in the election, showing that residents don’t
want a water district. She also mentioned that Supervisor Furton says the board should
‘work together’ at the last meeting, but she feels as though Furton is undermining the other
board members. Mimi believes Furton should use her own advice.
e. Cindy Topel stated the ‘closed for safety’ sign is not up yet, but the other is lying on the
ground She believes it should remain open and restored to usable for all to use. She also
mentioned a petition from the 1980s with 250 signatures asking to keep it active. Her
husband has helped with upkeep and it’s commonly used by snowmobiles, fishermen, etc.
f. Peter Hass is the president of River Road Rider Snowmobile Club who use the launch in
the winter to gain access to the Bay. He stated that he believes it was made unusable
without notice and no permits to do so. He encouraged the board to return it to it’s
condition and reopen it.
g. Candy Buchenauer read an email from Trygve Rhude stating the boat launch has been
around a long time and that the importance of public access for all residents cannot be
understated. He knows of 1 commercial fisherman that uses that launch and hopes that it
will remain and be maintained within the Town.
h. Sherry Winter has a beautiful view of the park and launch and states it is often busy with
a lot of winter use. She doesn’t believe parking is an issue and it is a pleasure to use.
