The chair handed out dra_ copies of the proposed revision to the building permit. A_er discussion it was felt that more changes should be made. It was decided to look at it again next month. Then copies of the building permits were handed out and review by the commission. The chair reminded everyone about the ASA mee2ng next Monday. Mike Churchill made the mo2on to adjourn seconded by Jim Fronsoe. Mo2on carried with the mee2ng adjourning at 6:40. The June 8, 2022 monthly mee2ng of the Amberg plan commission was called to order at 6:00 pm in the community center. The commission looked at several proposals for the new building permit form, and chose one to be recommended to the board. Mee2ng adjourned at 6:50 pm The Fire Department Report is on file in clerk’s office. The Rescue Squad Report was provided by Mark Wisinski. He stated that everything is going well except Unit 2 squad needs new sensor and the outcome has not been determined yet. Whatever is decided about the Unit 2 squad (fix or replace or some varia2on of that) all three other towns need to be on board. The Town of Wausaukee offered up their co-vid money which totals about $50,000. Road Department: a) Marek Rd. will be closed Wednesday to replace a culvert; b) Both Supervisor Magley and Supervisor Campbell reported that Black Sam Rd crack sealing was poorly done with large cracks not touched and many of the groves were not ground out and/or the debris was not blown out before being sealed. The credit card that the Town applied for was denied with Supervisor Campbell’s name on it. Lisle suggested that the town check with the Town’s Associa2on. Rick Downs asked if the town checked for fleet fuel card which can be used for gasoline, diesel, oil. Mark Wisinski volunteered to talk with Tom Arnold to see how Wausaukee Rescue Squad was able to get a card. Discussion con2nued on the sex offender ordinance. As stated at last month’s mee2ng the board does not need a hearing for crea2ng an ordinance. They need to pass the ordinance and then publish it to let the public know. Ron Magley made the mo2on to accept the ordinance, with the second by Jodi Campbell. Mo2on passed. The board unanimously approved the repair and/or replacement of the damaged Gerry Roush headstone base. Ron Holmes remarked that the cemetery appearance on Memorial Day was outstanding. The Amberg American Legion has been honoring the veterans buried there for the last 49 years. Last year the Legion, with George Kloppenburg’s help in researching the proper method the headstones were cleaned. He then removed all of the flag holders and straightened, cleaned, refinished and built storage crates to house them. Mr. Holmes suggested that ground level storage is needed rather than carrying the markers and flags out of the basement each year. There are 216 veterans buried in the Amberg cemetery going back to the civil war and there are also seven purple hearts honorees. The Avenue of flags was lined with 52 donated American flags from the families of the veterans that now reside there. It is important that the flags be stored safely. Many posi2ve remarks about the Amberg cemetery and the ceremony were heard. George Kloppenburg remarked that there are also twenty-thirty Legion Auxiliary Markers (cost about $40 each) in place. The board looked at the feasibility and/or need of hiring Town a^orney. In past three years an a^orney was needed to obtain a grant. It was suggested that if the Town had an a^orney on retainer it would be a way to gain enforcement power. Suggested a^orneys included Spangenburg and Coggins. It was tabled to provide 2me to explore op2ons. The renewal of the Smiley gravel contract was approved on a mo2on by Supervisor Campbell with a second by Supervisor Magley. Passed. Under new business Tyronne Melton requested a fireworks permit allowing him to sell fireworks to the public. A_er a brief discussion Supervisors Campbell and Magley stated that they had no problem in their minds about gran2ng the permit and Campbell made a mo2on to allow the sale with a second by Magley.
