Chippewa County Highway Committee Regular Meeting June 24, 2026 Chippewa County Courthouse, Room 302 10:00 AM 1. Call to Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM 2. Roll Call Members Present: James Flater, Peter Gehring, Matthew Peterson, Joseph Roshell, George Rohmeyer, Jr. Members Absent: None Others Present: Chris Elstran, Shane Birtzer, Fred Anderson, Joe Gutowski, Andy Albarado, Marla Prissel, Paul Krumenauer, Dennis Bachman, Chuck Hassemer 3. Members of the Public Wishing to Be Heard (Comments will be limited to 5 minutes per speaker.) Chuck Hassemer – Spoke positively regarding the actions taken to prevent farming within the right-of-way. 4. Schedule Next Meeting Date — July 22, 2026 10:00 AM 5. Reports 1. Highway Commissioner Report — Chris Elstran A. Financial Report Elstran gave reports on highway funds, county aid bridges, highway construction, and bridge construction. B. Dashboard Review Elstran reviewed the Highway Department dashboard. C. Highway Efficiencies Questions/Answers Elstran presented a summary of efficiency-related suggestions submitted by a committee member and the corresponding response from the highway department describing existing efficiency practices. Elstran encouraged committee members to offer further feedback or recommendations. D. CTH T Public Hearing - Chris Elstran Elstran reminded the committee of the Public Hearing scheduled for this evening, followed by discussion on the CTH T project funding. E. Farming in Right of Way Updates Elstran shared photos of fields violating right-of-way farming regulations. The committee chose to proceed as previously determined. Elstran will coordinate with the County Administrator and County Corporation Counsel on the letters. 2. County Construction Project Updates — Shane Birtzer Birtzer provided an overview of the County construction project schedule.
