Town Communications from Board & Road Supervisors, Town Clerk & Town Chair
Supervisor Brennan reported attending a Chippewa County comprehensive plan, land use, and intergovernmental focus group at the courthouse.
He represented Lafayette Township along with representatives from the Towns of Anson and Wheaton. The meeting focused on land use issues
affecting townships including ambulance service, police protection, and ATV trails. He indicated the comprehensive plan was behind schedule,
with follow-up meetings planned for December through March.
Supervisor Mathwig reported attending the Town Association unit meeting in Birch Creek the previous month. He noted the next meeting
would be in Bloomer in January, which he plans on attending. He also inquired about the possibility of setting up online payment options for
dog licenses, gate passes, and other town services, noting that many residents have difficulty getting to the town hall during business hours and
increasingly prefer to use credit cards rather than cash or checks.
Scott (Tourism Commission) reported that the commission recommends the board approve using up to $1,500 from their general us e account
to help fund an Eagle Scout project for garbage and recycling cans. This item would be added to the December agenda. He also announced that
the Sandra Harvey recreation area dedication was scheduled for November 28 at 11 AM. Scott mentioned a special meeting with the Chippewa
County comprehensive plan team scheduled for Thursday at 6 PM at the town hall, expected to last one hour. Finally, he noted that updates
were needed on the UDisc digital platform for the disc golf course, as there were inaccuracies in the information about town facilities.
There was a brief discussion about the hiring of a new clerk Jami Carter who would start in January, with plans to determine specific dates for
training with Laura, who would be transitioning out of her role. It was mentioned that $20,000 had been budgeted for consulting fees, and there
