GENERAL PUBLIC WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION None EXPEDITED ITEMS 1) Eckwright Rezone - There was no representative present. Commissioners voiced concerns regard- ing the topography where proposed new lots will be located. A motion to table action on this rezone until a representative is present to answer questions was made by Jerry Zais / Sue Lane; motion passed by voice vote with one “Opposed” vote. 2) Lis Rezone #1 (Metzenbauer) – Jason Hiess was present, and explained the reason for the rezone is to match surrounding uses and to prepare for dividing the parcel into smaller lots for single-family homes. Commissioners favored having all new driveways come off 51st Ave. and not off C.T.H.”X”. A neighbor was present and expressed opposition to the proposed future development of the parcel citing traffic con- cerns. A motion recommending the Town Board approve the rezone from Ag to R-1 was made by Scott Faris / Mark Sedlacek; motion passed by voice vote with one “Opposed” vote. 3) Lis Rezone #2 (Kalien) – Jason Hiess explained the reason for the rezone was the same as for the previous one, acknowledging the number of future lots would fall under the subdivision classification. He stated the preliminary cul-de-sac is less than 400 feet in length. Resident opposition to the planned de- velopment was again voiced. Following discussion where it was pointed out that both rezones were in compliance with the current Comprehensive Plan, a motion recommending the Town Board approve the rezone from Ag to R-1 was made by Mark Sedlacek / DeWayne Krumenauer; motion passed by voice vote with one “Opposed” vote. FINANCIAL REPORT Doug Matthews reported that the Disc Golf account balance was removed from the report sheet. The General Use account for July 31, 2025 had no expenditures, leaving a balance of $3,963.56. New 2nd Quarter Room Tax revenue were received in the amount of .$8,868.00 and the $200.00 First Prize from the recent Boat Parade is being held until the winner comes forward to request it. The resulting Room Tax account balance is $80,252.61. The Rec Building parking area paving will use approximately $40,000.00 of the available balance. A motion to accept the Financial Report was then made by Jerry Zais / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote. OLD BUSINESS 1) Town Parcel Development – Scott Faris announced the Town Board approved the request by the ATV club to open C.T.H. “K” from “X” to the Yellow River bridge, and if Chippewa County also approves Page 2 of 2 this, there would then be no need to develop a connecting ATV trail in the parcel accessing 210th Street. This would save the expense of fencing off the covered landfill from the trail. Plans to develop the walk- ing trails will continue. No further Commission action was taken. 2) Map of Lafayette Town Properties – Jerry Zais stated he had been in contact with Dennis Falken- berg with Chippewa County Land Records who made the large photo of the Town parcel, and he had of- fered to do 8½ x 11 photos of other Town parcels for the Commission. There were no details regarding what this might cost. A prepared Project Scope form will be available for the September meeting. No ad- ditional Commission action was taken. 3) Tourism Commissioner Update - The position remains open. Scott Faris advised that Sue Leonard had prepared a short list of possible candidates for Commissioners. Those who knew any of the listed in- dividuals will contact them to gauge their interest. No further Commission action was taken. NEW BUSINESS 1) Annual Rec Facilities Survey – Scott Faris reviewed the survey form, and Commissioners indicated which sites they each would gather information for. Doug Matthews asked that as soon as a site was sur- veyed that the results be sent to him so the final report could be expedited; per Town ordinance the sur- vey was due in July. No further Commission action was taken. 2) New Projects Proposals – Mark Sedlacek informed the Commission that he had been contacted by a private party that expressed a desire to fully fund a pavilion structure on Town property; he will have more details for the next meeting.
