FINANCIAL REPORT
Doug Matthews reported that the May 31, 2025 Disc Golf account balance is $5,456.20 after $460.00 was
spent on the replacement disc target and basket in the past month. The General Use account for May
31, 2025 had expenditures of $5,000.00 for ball field fencing and $1,036.44 for fire station planter materi-
als, leaving a balance of $3,963.56. No new 1st Quarter Room Tax revenue was received. Expenditures
included $11,512.00 for ball field fencing, $750.00 for the extra Blue Star Marker mounting, and
$4,490.10 for dugout benches. The resulting balance is $68,928.41. Doug Matthews pointed out the cost
of the benches exceeded what was agreed upon at the 8/12/2024 meeting, and $413.42 was apparently
taken to pay for signs that were not authorized by the Commission. Discussion followed regarding clos-
ing the Disc Golf Account and returning the remaining money to the Room Tax account. A motion to
transfer the $5,456.20 back into the Room Tax account and to close the Disc Golf account was made by
Jerry Zais / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote. A motion to accept the Financial Report
was then made by Scott Faris / Jerry Zais; motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
OLD BUSINESS
1) Recommendations for Uses of the Town Parcel - Scott Faris informed the Commission that the
Town Board approved keeping the parcel, and is requesting ideas for uses of it. Approximately 14 area
residents were present, and voiced opinions on possible uses; consensus was to maintain the area as
natural as possible, but accommodate ATV and other uses. Other specific ideas regarding uses included
hiking / cross-country ski trails, a dog walking area, and a space for pick-up football and soccer games.
Motorize uses would be kept as far away from the residences as possible, and parking area(s) would be
kept small and unpaved. Improvements subject to vandalism would not be made. Following discussion,
a motion recommending the Town Board request an estimate for the construction of a 60 ft. x 160 ft. park-
ing lot was made by Jerry Zais / DeWayne Krumenauer; motion failed on a 2 – 4 show of hands vote. A
motion to maintain the natural character, while including an ATV trail with access to 210th Street, hiking,
biking, dog walking, snowshoeing trails, a small parking area, and other unspecified light rec uses was
then made by Sue Lane / Mark Sedlacek; motion passed on a 5 – 1 show of hands vote.
2) 2025 Boat Parade - No report was available. A motion to cancel the parade if plans are not fully
ready was made by Mark Sedlacek / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

3) Tourism Commissioner Update - Mr. Seth Gebauer stated he was still interested in applying for the
position, but could not locate any application form on the website. No further Commission action was
taken.
NEW BUSINESS
1) SandBar Fireworks Donation – Mr. Seth Gebauer requested $5,000.00 from the Commission, to
help with the planned expenses. Following discussion regarding traffic issues with 50th Ave. being closed,
consensus was to recommend traffic be directed east on 50th Ave. to 195th Street, and not north through
the residential neighborhood. A motion to make a one-time donation of $5,000.00 to the SandBar for fire-
works expenses was made by Sue Lane / Mark Sedlacek; motion passed on a 6 – 0 roll call vote.
2) New Projects Proposals – Jerry Zais asked if something could be done about the odors from the Rec
Building’s bathrooms drifting over the picnic area. One suggestion was to have the ventilation fan run
continuously during high use times. No further Commission action was taken. Jerry Zais then asked if a
PortaPotty could be placed by the pickle ball courts. No further Commission action was taken.
