APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES & AGENDA A motion to accept the Agenda for the May 12, 2025 meeting and to approve the Minutes of the April 14, 2025 PRTLU Regular meeting and April 29, 2025 Special meeting without correction was made by Sue Lane / Mark Sedlacek; motion was approved by unanimous voice vote. GENERAL PUBLIC WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION Mr. Seth Gebauer of the SandBar addressed the Commission to request a donation to go toward the cost of their 4th of July fireworks show, explaining the event has been done for many years, has grown to at- tract many attendees and is essentially a community event. He was advised that the Commission could take no action on his request at this meeting, but it could be an Agenda item at their June 9, 2025 meet- ing, and a decision could occur then. EXPEDITED ITEMS 1) Tom Davis CSM – The owners of the parcel were not present at the meeting, but the party that will be purchasing the new parcel was present. The new parcel will be approximately 6.4 acres of an original 80 acre parcel. Following questions from the Commission, a motion recommending the Town Board approve the CSM was made by Mark Sedlacek / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote. 2) Derrick Paul Rezone – The owners of the 12.4 acre parcel were present, and indicated they may di- vide it into two parcels in the future, but the rezone is to match the zoning to the proposed use of having a single family house. A motion recommending the Town Board approve the rezone was made by Jerry Zais / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote.. FINANCIAL REPORT Doug Matthews reported that the April 30, 2025 Disc Golf account balance remained at $5,916.20 with no expenditures for the past month. The General Use account for April 30, 2025 also had no expenditures, leaving a balance of $10,000. The $3,450.00 earmarked for payment to Chippewa County for bike trail signage has become unnecessary due to the County receiving a grant for the project. $5,695.35 in 1st Quarter Room Tax revenue was received, leaving a Room Tax account balance of $85,680.51. The new fencing at the ball fields was $15,983.00, but the authorizing motion did not designate which account this amount was to come from. A motion to use $5,000 from the General Use account and $10,983.00 from the Room Tax account for the fencing was made by Sue Lane / Mark Sedlacek; motion passed by unani- mous roll call vote. The planter at the fire station was rebuild at a cost of approximately $1,000.00, and will be paid from the General Use account once an invoice is received. A motion to accept the Financial Report was made by Jerry Zais / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote. OLD BUSINESS 1) Disc Golf – Jerry Zais reported there are two groups interested in holding tournaments at the course sometime before winter; no further details were available. No Commission action was taken. 2) Ray’s Beach – Jerry Zais reminded Commissioners of the Gold Star dedication ceremony scheduled for Thursday, May 15, beginning at 1:00 PM. No further Commission action was taken. Page 2 of 2 3) New Projects – Jerry Zais said he had contacted Hayworth Fence regarding replacing the safety ca- ble at Ray’s Beach Park with a new 3-foot high chain link fence. Their estimated cost for the entire length of the park was $48,000.00. No Commission action was taken. 4) Disposition and Uses of the Town Parcel - Scott Faris informed the Commission that the Town Board wanted a decision on whether to keep or sell the parcel, and then ideas for uses of it, if not sold. Following discussion, a motion to recommend the Town Board retain ownership of the parcel was made by Mark Sedlacek / Sue Lane; motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Approximately 15 area residents were present, and voiced opinions on current problems and possible uses; consensus was to maintain the area as natural as possible. Specific ideas regarding uses will be discussed at a future Commission meeting. No further Commission action was taken. NEW BUSINESS 1) 2025 Boat Parade – Project leader Jenna Hazelton suggested officially designating the parade date as July 4. Following discussion, a motion to have the 2025 Boat Parade on Friday, July 4, with the rain date being Saturday, July 5, to allocate $900.00 from the Room Tax account for publicity and prizes, and to also award any donated local business gift cards as prizes was made by Scott Faris / Sue Lane; mo- tion passed by unanimous voice vote. It was then pointed out that due to the typical heavy use of the Brick boat landing on the weekend of the 4th, there might be problems accommodating the additional trail- ers for Parade participants. The suggestion was made to investigate using the grocery store parking lot as overflow parking. 2) Tourism Commissioner Application – Mr. Doug Miller was present. It was determined that his oc- cupation was not “tourism-related” and thus he couldn’t serve as the tourism representative, but could serve as a regular PRTLU Commissioner. He said he would be interested in serving as a regular Com- missioner. No further Commission action was taken.
