TOWN OF WHEATON SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 16, 2026 The meeting has been properly noticed per Wisconsin Statute 19.84 2) The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm with the Pledge of Allegiance being recited and a moment of silence being observed. 3) Roll call was taken and the following members were present: Mr. Deutscher, Mr. Books, Mr. Gutsch, Ms. Rudd, and Mr. Harmon. Ms. Miller was absent. 4) A motion was made by Books/Harmon to approve the agenda. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. 5) The bids received for roadwork for 2026 and the road repair and maintenance budget for 2026 was discussed. A motion was made by Harmon/Books to award the crack fill bid to Superior Sealers in its entirety at total cost of $34,385. The motion carried on a 3-1 roll call vote. Mr. Gutsch voted no. A motion was made by Rudd/Books to award the chip seal bid to Fahrner in its entirety using CRS2P oil at a total cost of $110,182. The motion carried on a 3-1 roll call vote. Mr. Harmon voted no. A motion was made by Harmon/Rudd to award the flex patch bid to Fahrner for all roads except 65th avenue, 17th avenue, and 124th street at a total cost of $70,680. The motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote. A motion was made by Books/Rudd to award the 70th street project as follows: the 6” base to Haas Sons at a cost of $5,830.50, the pulverizing and re-laid to Haas Sons at a cost of $1,217.60, the paving to Senn at a cost of $72.77 per ton of blacktop, and the shouldering to Chippewa County at a cost of $3,382. The motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote. A motion was made by Harmon/Rudd to award the Renick Addition project as follows: for removing the existing pavement, sub cut/common excavation, base aggregate for roadway, shouldering, and lawn restoration to Haas Sons at a total cost of $62,765, and the paving to Senn at a cost of $87.64 per ton of blacktop. The motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote. 6) A motion by Books/Rudd was made to adjourn. Motion carried by a unanimous voice vote at 8:41 pm.
