Town of Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday, January 27, 2026 Wheaton Town Hall 4975 County Highway T Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 1. Affidavit of Notice of Meeting per Wisconsin Statute 19.84 2. Ken Books called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. 3. Roll Call: Ken Books, Jan Dole, Becky McInnis, Brandon Thatcher, Cesar Arauz, Jenny Schutte 4. Consent Agenda: Approval of Agenda. Jenny moved to approve the agenda; Brandon seconded the motion. Motion passed. Approval of May 27, 2025, July 29, 2025, August 26, 2025, and November 25, 2025 meeting minutes. Becky moved to approve May 27, 2025, July 29, 2025, August 26, 2025, and November 25, 2025 meeting minutes with discussed change to August 26, 2025 meeting minutes; Ken seconded the motion. Motion passed. Next Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Jan moved to have the next meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 2026; Becky seconded the motion. Motion passed. 5. Public Comments: None 6. Old Business a. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Donations ● No new brick or park donations. b. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Rentals ● 2026: 5 lower pavilion, 2 upper pavilion, and 1 special events. ● 2027: 2 lower pavilion, 1 upper pavilion, and 0 special events. c. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Maintenance ● Reviewed and discussed park maintenance list for 2026. d. Review/Discuss/Act on Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park ● Cesar will be working on course layout plans. e. Review/Discuss/Act on Post Rental Feedback Survey ● Reviewed post rental feedback survey draft. ● Discussed the format, questions, wording, and proposed changes. Ken will make the requested changes to the survey draft. 7. New Business a. Review/Discuss/Act on Ice Skating Rink ● Discussed ice skating rink setup and need for someone else to handle it if still being set up as Ken is unable to due to medical reasons. Becky made a motion to not set up the ice rink due to weather not aligning and short season; Jan seconded the motion. Motion passed. b. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Tree Planting Event for Earth Day ● Brandon made a motion to approve tree planting by Elk Mound Moundview Elementary 4th graders; Becky seconded the motion. Motion passed. 8. Set Potential Agenda Items for Next Meeting ● Park Donations, Park Rentals, Park Maintenance, Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park, Post Rental Feedback Survey, Concession Building Use by Lower Pavilion Rentals during Ball Season 9.
