Parks Commission Meeting — Minutes

Town of Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday, November 25, 2025 Wheaton Town Hall 4975 County Highway T Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 1. Affidavit of Notice of Meeting per Wisconsin Statute 19.84 2. Ken Books called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. 3. Roll Call: Ken Books, Jan Dole, Becky McInnis, Brandon Thatcher 4. Consent Agenda: Approval of Agenda, Approval of October Meeting Minutes, and next Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Date: January 27, 2026. Becky moved to approve the consent agenda and minutes; Seconded by Ken. Motion passed. 5. Public Comments: None 6. Welcome Brandon Thatcher to the Parks Commission – Brandon Thatcher was introduced to the Parks Commission members. 7. Old Business a. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Donations ● No new brick or park donations. b. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Rentals ● 2026: 2 lower pavilion, 0 upper pavilion, and 1 special events. ● Reviewed Wheaton Ball League rental for 2026 which is proposing to utilize the same park labor exchange as past rentals. The rental agreement as a special event would be updated with additional terms. Becky moved to approve Wheaton Ball League rental for 2026 in exchange for park labor; Seconded by Jan. Motion passed. c. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Maintenance ● Field banners and batting cages were put away. ● Pickleball nets were put away. ● Picnic tables with no roofs were put away. ● Butterfly garden woodchips were spread on the walking paths. ● Butterfly garden water source was cleaned up and put away. ● Tennis court and boat landing porta potties were pumped out and locked up for winter. ● Sleds were put in sledding hill sled borrowing station. ● All park winterization tasks were completed. d. Review/Discuss/Act on Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park ● No updates. e. Review/Discuss/Act on Wheaton Winter Newsletter Park Information ● Reviewed parks information draft with feedback provided. ● Ken will update parks information with requested changes. f. Review/Discuss/Act on Post Rental Feedback Survey ● Discussed post rental feedback survey items to include such as: amenities, availability, cleanliness, cost, parking, registration, and suggestions. 8. New Business a. None 9. Set Potential Agenda Items for Next Meeting ● Park Donations, Park Rentals, Park Maintenance, Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park, Post Rental Feedback Survey 10.
