Town of Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday, April 22, 2025 Wheaton Town Hall at 7 p.m. 4975 County Highway T Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 1. Affidavit of Notice of Meeting per Wisconsin Statute 19.84 2. Ken Books called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. 3. Roll Call: Ken Books, Jan Dole, Becky McInnis, and Jenny Schutte Public present: Mark Kohls 4. Consent Agenda: Approval of Agenda, Approval of March Meeting Minutes, and next Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Date: May 27, 2025. Jan moved to approve the consent agenda and minutes; Seconded by Becky. Motion passed. 5. Public Comments: None 6. Old Business A. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Donations  No new park donations; Becky processed the 5 bricks ordered in December. Check for the order balance will be sent to the town hall. Cesar is working on getting an installer.  Leland Hix has generously donated his election day pay to the park. B. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Rentals  2025: 18 lower pavilion, 3 upper pavilion, 2 special events, inquiries made on field rentals. C. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Maintenance  Reviewed park maintenance list.  All fields are worked up, porta potties put into service, Prairie View field bleachers are stained, buildings and restrooms cleaned out, sledding hill equipment put away, septic lift station pump installed, and water turned on. Field banners still need to be put up, butterfly garden bird bath needs to be put out, ice rink liner needs to be rolled up and stored, and some painting/staining still needs to be done. D. Review/Discuss/Act on Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park  No updates E. Review/Discuss on Upper Pavilion/Building Project Update  Reviewed the progress of the upper pavilion and building project. 7. New Business A. Review/Discuss/Act on Town June Newsletter Park Information  Discussed items to include in the newsletter relating to the park. Will research park historical information. B. Review/Discuss/Act on Chapter 6 Park Ordinance 5 Year Review  Reviewed current park ordinance and discussed changes needed.  Ken will redline and add comments to the current park ordinance reflecting the changes for further review. 8. Set Potential Agenda Items for Next Meeting  Park Donations, Park Rentals, Park Maintenance, Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park, Upper Pavilion/Building Project Update, Town June Newsletter Park Information, and Chapter 6 Park Ordinance 5 Year Review. 9.
