Town of Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday, March 25, 2025 Wheaton Town Hall at 7 p.m. 4975 County Highway T Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 1. Affidavit of Notice of Meeting per Wisconsin Statute 19.84 2. Ken Books called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. 3. Roll Call: Ken Books, Jan Dole, Becky McInnis, and Jenny Schutte Public present: Eugene Gutsch 4. Consent Agenda: Approval of Agenda, Approval of February Meeting Minutes, and next Wheaton Parks Commission Meeting Date: April 22, 2025. Jan moved to approve the consent agenda and minutes; Seconded by Jenny. Motion passed. 5. Public Comments: Eugene Gutsch came and announced that he would be running for Wheaton Chair and would welcome our vote. 6. Old Business A. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Donations  No new park donations. B. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Rentals  2025: 17 lower pavilion, 3 upper pavilion, and 2 special events. C. Review/Discuss/Act on Park Maintenance  Reviewed park maintenance list. Ken set up the tennis court net, tennis court and boat landing porta potties go into service week of 4/1. D. Review/Discuss/Act on Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park  Mike Slinde provided Cesar and Ken what needs to be done for them to access the course map with hole arrangements. E. Review/Discuss on Park Tree Planting Event for Earth Day  Discussed tree planting event plan along with information provided by the Elk Mound School District.  Mark and Jan will lead tree planting activities with the kids and be Town of Wheaton representatives onsite. Carolyn Kaiser may assist as well. F. Review/Discuss on Upper Pavilion/Building Project Update  Diggers Hotline has marked out the underground lines.  Chippewa County Zoning to issue building permit at the end of this week/beginning of next week.  Balts Construction to start the project week of 3/31.  Ken will make arrangements with Lenny and Matt to take the steel removed from the pavilion roof to the recycle center.  Balts Construction will use lock box for accessing upper building during construction period. 7. New Business  None 8. Set Potential Agenda Items for Next Meeting  Park Donations, Park Rentals, Park Maintenance, Adding Frisbee Disc Golf Course to Wheaton Park, and Upper Pavilion/Building Project Update 9.
