a. CTH E and STH 57 Intersection Concerns – Update
Thad Ash reported that the plan was approved by the State. However, there are a few areas
that need to be tweaked. He has been in contact with the engineers for them to look at it
again.
b. Safety Issues at Ferry Dock (end of STH 42)
Thad Ash handed out a drawing from the Engineering firm, Santac, which showed some of the
changes including excavating soil, adding a paved sidewalk, north side paved path, a stop sign
and some speed bumps. They State has some comments, and Kim Bradley said she will be
sending the State’s comments to Santac.
A question was raised if there would be any improvements with the upcoming resurfacing
project in this area. Ash responded that the project does not include bike or walking paths.
c. Speed and other concerns on County B
Ash reviewed that there is a concerned group [Neighbors for a Safe Bay Shore Drive
(NFSBSD)], trying to find areas to calm traffic, other than speed reductions. They have a media
event planned for next week at Pinney Park.
Ash applauds the group for the efforts they’re trying to promote.
Wiessinger added that it’s commendable that a community driven effort is trying to be proactive
to prevent crash data.
Ash noted that the Highway Department will be starting a project, starting at the City limits,
which will widen bike lanes for the first mile and a half.
9. New Business: None.
