The plans have been in a continual state of revision to meet today’s presented budget. Paul noted he is confident that the competitive bidding process will bring the project in the budgeted dollars approved. Planning to bid out in June with approval at the July meetings. Review of costs and questions included: fire suppression costs – intent is to use the existing system to the best extent as possible with some upgrades; occupancy per space; what significant changes were made to bring the project close to budget – spaces and finishes within spaces were updated or eliminated such as ceilings and a reduction in square footage spaces; costs are supported by historical data and actual take offs and quantity estimates of plans while utilizing subcontractor consultants; $1.882M includes the roof, portion of the exterior, mechanicals, split costs on conference rooms and restrooms; what would the costs be without completing the future tenant spaces - tenant spaces aren’t to a finished condition, tenants are responsible to build out their own spaces; the $809,219 cost includes the front façade, windows, and doors, a portion of the conference rooms, and a portion of the bathrooms; is there a need for both conference rooms – both are shared spaces and would be used for Museum programs and tenants; annual operating cost estimates - $23,500 heat/fuel, $20,600 water/sewer utilities; $10,300 service contracts; repair & maintenance building $3,000 first year, $5,000 following years; $61,400 estimated first year annual facility costs – may be offset by tenant lease; no additional staff will be required for either the Museum or Facilities; tenants maintain their space; are there any anticipated existing museum exterior and/or interior needs – repairs and upgrades have largely been handled within annual budget.
