Discussion on history, purpose and importance of CJCC. The CJCC was designed to coordinate departments and improve communication. Discussion on need for future meetings and frequency of such. There should be at least two meetings per year but, moving forward, we will try to schedule meetings on a quarterly basis. Joe Krebsbach informed the group that there is a federal grant that could provide for someone to oversee the CJCC and give feedback on how it could be better used. He will look into the grant and report back at the next meeting. b) Treatment Court updates. Judge Weber explained that the Treatment Court has been up and running for five years but there is an ongoing treatment coordinator shortage. No new participants have been added over the last year and the final participant is set to graduate next month. The TAD grant provides for two positions and there are interviews with potential treatment providers next week. Kristin Deprey will be providing coordinator support moving forward. The treatment court is funded for 2026 and future planning will start soon for 2027. Judge Weber indicated that the state evaluators came and were very encouraging. It is hopeful that the treatment court will get back on its feet once new treatment providers are on board. c) SIM project. Judge Weber explained that in November of 2025 there was a SIM workshop put on by the state to discuss services in the community and identify deficiencies. Two work groups were created, one to work on lack of treatment providers and once to work on housing. Both work groups have met and are compiling data and determining how to move forward. d) Report from Judges. The judges explained that they are working on creating local court rules, which, when drafted, will be circulated to the local bar. They want to keep the rules simple and straightforward.
