New Business (Review/Action) ● Program Updates o Nicki stated that the kitchen is full staff and is Bong Yon and Candy are doing great. o Baileys Harbor Town Hall and our meal site is going thru construction. The meal site has been temporarily moved across the street to the Fire Station until about May. o Wendy who coordinates our Meals on Wheels program and the volunteer drivers is retiring April 2nd. Wendy has been with the county for 26 years. This will open some vacancies in other areas. ● Nutritional Statistics o Nicki reviewed the handout “Health and Human Services Statistics” noting that the total participation for activities and events are up about 30 compared to 2024. For congregate meals compared to 2024; Baileys Harbor is down by about 300, Brussels was shut down, Liberty Grove is up about 100 and Sturgeon Bay is up about 2000 meals. Meals on Wheels ebbs and flows and ended 2025 slightly lower than 2024. ● Nutrition Program Staff and Volunteer Training o Starting this year, the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am, there will be a nutrition training. The first couple are Food Safety and Sanitation and Food Borne Illness. Training for Nelvie on Washington Island will be provided separately. Maybe during the annual evaluation with the Nutritionist and Nicki in June or July. The Volunteer Celebration will be in April, Dawn will be sending out information. ● Program Service Feedback Survey o Health and Human Services has a QA Project and other goals in our agency. This year we decided to do a survey which includes all areas. How staff are doing and what can we do. We will post this survey in front on the tables and on the nutrition table by the dining room, in the shared office, on the tv above the fireplace, as well as staff handing out copies, and adding the link to our emails. We will collect feedback throughout the year and redistribute the surveys. The surveys are included in the agenda packet. ● Senior Dining Expectations Policy Updated o Nicki went over the handout “ADRC of Door County Meal Expectations and Guidelines” included in the agenda packet. This has been updated within the last couple of weeks. On section 10. Pets, add “service” before animals. A question was is this dining area specific? The 2 questions we can ask are; 1. Is this animal a service animal? and 2. What service does it provide? Another observation was that we do not have to accept ESA (Emotional Support Animals) but we do have to accept Service Animals. Also add a link to the Federal Link to ADA Service Animals. o There will be a welcome packet for new people. Set expectations for groups here for things other than dining. Our space is utilized in many different ways. o We have started asking for $1 for coffee. If people do not contribute to the coffee fund, then we might not be able to offer coffee. Ideas include no coffee on a day certain day of the month, signage that says coffee costs for the year, table tent on back of the menu on the lazy susan’s on each table, buy the cup at the front desk, making sure to list that it is not a donation, have the kitchen check numbers and fill a limited number of carafes. Robert volunteered to sit down in the dining area with the box and collect coffee money. ● C1 Funding updates o A change through the state transfers 25% of current C1 funding and offer it as a carry out option. The heat out in Baileys Harbor meant we had to offer the dine in meal as a carryout at that time. The meal is prepackaged. Carry out meals are not a regular option; it is an exception. We are offering 3 emergency meals in case we are not able to send out meals based on unforeseen emergencies. We are hoping that in March we will get a grant. ● T2 Diabetes Class o A handout included in the agenda packet “Why do I PreventT2?” is offered by Public Health as a series starting April 29th at 10:00 am. The cost is $100 and signup can be done thru Teri at 920- 746-7110 or emailing her at the email address listed on the handout. ● Donations from local farms and orchards o About 6 months ago the Door County Community Foundation donated; apples, potatoes, onions, squash and salmon from Strawberry Creek. Which we used in seafood chowder. We used other community partners. such as, food pantries, and Sunshine Resources. 8. Nutrition Program Participant Feedback - None 9. Unmet Needs - None 10.
