Motion by Dan and second by Andrew to approve the minutes of the June 11, 2026, meeting. Motion carried. Public Participation. None. Pending Business Interior Update of Concession Stand. Mark presented the Committee with a drawing of the interior of the concession stand. With moving the Cubbies cooler, we would need to find a new spot for the sound system. If we decreased the width of the counter, that would offer more space between the counter and the cooler. Currently no one utilizes our cash register anymore, so instead we could install cash drawers under the popcorn machine. We also should consider dedicated circuits for the coolers. Currently, the breakers are getting blown with everything running. The wall between sink and front of the stand will be 2x6 with ½” plywood on both sides with sheetrock on concession side and milkhouse board on the sink side. There will be no light switches, so instead motion detected lights. We will also put some sheetrock up between the ceiling and the roof, with some additional ceiling fans for ventilation. Mark will take the drawing and update it to reflect the changes mentioned and will bring this. Equipment Maintenance. Dan stated that the employees need to read the manual on the tractor, so they know how to use it properly. We will need to purchase a bushhog since we switched to the new tractor. At the end of the season, Andrew will work with Jack to get everything winterized. Project List for Employees Grass removal at Town Dump. This will be taken care of once we purchase the bushhog. We can have our Park Employee, Josh, start working on breaking the cooler down with a saw Zaw. Weed control / removal from various places in the park. Dan told Jack he would like the weeds sprayed in the park parking lot. Fall work calendar to understand who is working and what needs to be done. Budget to Actual. To date, the budget is looking good, nothing concerning at this point. Electrical access for Clark Lake Dam. This was a carryover from last month. Mark spoke with Jim Webb who is an owner of the parcel to the west of the Clark Lake Dam and asked if we could tap into his power to power the cameras at the dam. Mark will attempt to reconnect with Jim Webb and come back with an update. Ryan believes that we should pull 4 boards and replace them when we can. Batting Cages. Mark reported that our batting cages need some repair. Mark would like to see the batting cages to have concrete on the bottom of the cages and then mats on top. New Business Door County Pickleball Rep. - Court Status. Arlene Woelfel wanted to give the Park and Recreation Committee an update on the Pickleball Courts. Arlene is part of the Door County Pickleball Club. The are a total of 7 courts in the County. Recently Brussels added 6 courts. The places that have the courts are Brussels, Sevastopol, Sunset Park, Fish Creek YMCA, Sister Bay, Ephriam, and Washington Island. Arlene sets the schedule for Sevastopol’s pickleball courts. The Door County Pickleball Club has provided benches, wind screens, nets, lessons, and painting lines when needed. There has been a large increase in younger people playing as well. Arlene would like to encourage the Town to consider building a dedicated tennis court and convert the one that is the shared one with pickleball court to dedicated pickleball courts. We need to redo the posts and rope down at Whitefish Bay Boat Launch. Town 250 Event at Park – Requirements. Mark stated that every municipality received money from Destination Door County to have an event for the Town residents to celebrate. Agenda Items for Next Meeting. Set Next Meeting Date. Wednesday, August 26, 2026 @ 6:00 p.m. Adjourn. Motion by Derek and second by Ryan to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 8:13 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Amy M. Flok Draft 7/2026
