Ad Hoc Business Association Meeting — Minutes

Sevastopol Business Association Ad Hoc Committee Date: Thursday, June 18, 2026 Time: 11am-1pm Location: Sevastopol Town Hall – Small Conference Room Members: Stacie Denil (Town Supervisor and Ad Hoc Chair), Jeanne Vogel (Town Supervisor), and Jean Elste (Sevastopol Community Member Representative) Optional: Amy Flok (Sevastopol Town Clerk) Special Guest: Karyn Stroschein (Community Engagement Coordinator) Call to Order. The meeting was called to order by Chair, Stacie Denil at 11:06. The following members were present and constitute a quorum: Stacie Denil, Jean Elste, and Jeanne Vogel. Also in attendance: Amy M. Flok/Clerk, Karyn Stroschein and Linda Wait. Southern Door Business Association. Karyn Stroschein, Community Engagement Coordinator for Southern Door came to speak to the committee. Her role was created a year and half ago. Southern Door has had a business association since the inception of room tax. The money they get from room tax is allocated towards community events. Initially they had a $200 annual fee to be a part of the business association, but they have now done away with that fee. Karyn is an independent consultant that works 20 hours a week and specializes in the promotion of Southern Door (Brussels, Union, Gardener, Nasewaupee). Follow up from May Meeting. Carlsville does not have dues for their Business Association. We did apply for an EIN number and the official title tied to the EIN number is “Sevastopol Business Association.” The Committee went over the letter one more time to finalize it and will now send it out. We will see what kind of response we get and in addition, we hope to get the people who want to serve on the Board and be very involved. America 250 th Anniversary Celebration. There was an idea to do a possible BBQ with a Cubbies game on a Friday night. There was also mention of a movie at the Park night to draw in some family fun. We will revisit this at another meeting. Destination Sturgeon Bay. Open Discussion/Comments. We will have an Ad Hoc Business Meeting to invite all of the businesses on Monday, July 13th and Tuesday, July 14th at 6:30, here at the Town Hall. Committee members will bring water, brownies, and wine. Set next meeting date. Adjourn. Motion by Jean and second by Jeanne to adjourn.
