Town of Sevastopol Ordinance Committee Meeting - Minutes Tuesday, March 3, 2026 - 6:00 p.m. 4528 State Highway 57, (Institute), Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 Call to Order. Chairman Olsen called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. The following Committee members are present and constitute a quorum: Laddie Chapman, Linda Wait and Trent Olsen. Excused are Jeff Schmeckpeper and Amy Flok. Proper Notice / Adopt Agenda. The agenda has been properly noticed. Motion by Wait and second by Chairman to adopt the agenda; motion carried. Approval of Previous Minutes. Motion by Wait and second by Chapman to accept the previous minutes of November 4, 2025; motion carried. Review of Updated Ordinance List and Recommended Final Category Listing. Olsen provided an updated list of current ordinances, with date, number, name and suggested category. Last fall, with some ordinances having been repealed or replaced, the Town Board approved the updated ordinances on Regulating Noxious Weeds, Regulating Snowmobile Travel and Burning and those three are included on the updated listing. There are now about 50 current ordinances. Proposed Website Format Discussion. After discussion, it was the consensus that we concentrate on the current ordinances and how to best post those to our Town website and include search capability as to topic and/or date. We looked at our current “Ordinances & Resolutions” website page and that of another municipality when searching for a specific topic within an ordinance. The Committee recommends the following: • There should be separate web pages for “Ordinances” and “Resolutions” • We will start with posting current ordinances and see how that progresses for now • All ordinances posted to the website should be in pdf format and not word doc format (to preserve original text) • The ordinance would be titled as follows using the listing, for example: Ordinance 1973 Establishing the Sewer Utility of Sevastopol Ordinance 1976 Mobile Home Ordinance Ordinance No. 2-1978 Speed Zone on Dunn Road Ordinance No. 2-1991 Acceptance of Rock Ridge Road/Jim’s Road • When search results pop up, see if we can get that down to “one click” rather than two (may or may not be possible) Next Agenda Items / Meeting Date. to be determined.
