Town Board — Minutes

Town of Sevastopol Ordinance Committee Meeting Tuesday August 5, 2025, 6:00 PM 4528 State Highway 57, (Institute), Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 Call to Order. Ordinance Committee Chairman, Trent Olsen, called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Establish Quorum. The following members were present and constitute a quorum: Linda Wait, Laddie Chapman, Jeff Schmeckpeper, Amy Flok and Trent Olsen. Proper Notice / Adopt Agenda. Proper notice was confirmed. Motion by Linda and second by Laddie to adopt the agenda. Motion carried. Approval of June 5, 2025, minutes. Motion by Laddie and second by Jeff to approve the minutes of the June 5th meeting. Motion carried. Updates on Section 4 Items to be amended and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for upcoming meetings. Linda went through and updated 3 of the ordinances. Those ordinances were Regulating Noxious Weeds and Invasive Species, Regulating Snowmobile Travel on Town Roads, and an updated Burning Ordinance. The Committee went through each ordinance and had some discussion on each of them. We will clean these up and present them to the Board of Supervisors’ at the August meeting. The Committee then took a look at the draft ordinance, “Regulation of Activities in Town Parks” that was proposed at the July Board Meeting. Trent added “Camping overnight at any Town Park is strictly prohibited.” Trent will recommend a more consistent numbering system of our ordinances to the Town Board.
