Town Board — Minutes

Special Board of Supervisors’ Meeting Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 – 4:30 p.m. 4528 State Highway 57, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 Call to Order. The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Dan Woelfel, at 4:30 p.m. Roll Call to Establish Quorum. In addition to the Woelfel, the following Supervisors were in attendance: Supervisor Wait, Supervisor Olsen, and Supervisor Vogel. Supervisor Haen is excused. Also in attendance: Amy M. Flok, Clerk-Treasurer. Adopt Agenda/Proper Notice. Upon proper notice, motion by Olsen and second by Vogel to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Road Construction – Mathey Road/Whitefish Bay Road. Woelfel stated that he had a conversation prior to the June Board meeting with Northeast Asphalt since they own the quarry off Mathey Road and their operations contribute to the degradation of the road. Wait was unaware of this conversation when having the discussion regarding road work at the June meeting. Northeast Asphalt will send us a proposal for the July meeting to overlay Mathey Road (double pave) in 2026 for the price of a single pave. Instead of paving Mathey, we will redirect the money to paving the full mile of Whitefish Bay Road from Hwy 42 westerly to HH, approximately 7,740 feet. Motion by Olsen and second by Wait to do the full mile of Whitefish Bay ($199,241) and put Mathey Road on hold until 2026 and discussions with Northeast Asphalt for next year. Motion carried.
