Town Board — Minutes

Ordinance Committee Meeting Tuesday, February 11, 2025, 6:00 PM 4528 State Highway 57, (Institute), Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 Call to Order. The Ordinance Committee Meeting was called to order by Committee Chair, Trent Olsen at 6:10 p.m. Establish Quorum. In addition to Olsen, the following Ordinance Committee members were in attendance and constitute a quorum: Linda Wait, Amy Flok. Laddie Chapman and Jeff Schmeckpeper were excused. Public Participation. None Proper Notice / Adopt Agenda. Upon verification of proper notice by Clerk Flok, motion by Linda and second by Trent to adopt the agenda as noticed. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes – Ordinance Committee January 14, 2025, and January 28, 2025. Motion by Linda and second by Amy Flok to approve the Ordinance Committee meeting minutes from January 14, 2025, and January 28, 2025. Motion carried. Pending Business Status update – Scanning of ordinances in OCR recognizable format/Status update – Ordinance summaries from each member responsible for reviews/Establish which ordinances need a secondary review to ensure they have been repealed/replaced. Trent informed the committee that Laddie has purchased some new software, and he will be showing the committee at the next meeting. Linda, Trent, and Amy went through their categories along with which ordinances are still in effect and which ones need to be repealed. Linda will take a look at what the Wisconsin Town’s Association has in their library for repealing, and additional ordinances on certain categories such as elections, firearms, etc. We will send Trent our comments on each ordinance, whether they are still in effect, whether it needs to be repealed or updated.
