Town of Sturgeon Bay Broadband Internet Committee Meeting Door County Library October 9, 2025 Minutes 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by David Wood at 3:02 PM. 2. Establish quorum: Committee members present: David Wood, Jeff Feuersein, Randy Graf, Pam Kraase, Cathy Eckers. All members in attendance. 3. Adopt agenda: Motion by Feuerstein, seconded by Kraase. Motion carried. 4. Approve minutes: Motioned by Graf, seconded by Feuerstein, to approve the May 29, 2025, meeting minutes. Motion carried. 5. Correspondence: See item 8.a., Project Update. 6. Public comment: None 7. Old business: None 8. New business a. Review AT&T Project Update. There have been updates to the estimated completion timeline. The most significant change is in section 2166PA of the timeline map. This is the eastern shoreline or the town. It appears that homes in that section are estimated to be online in November 2026 or possibly December. Graf questioned if that means that AT&T would have completed 25% of their contract because of the number of installs in that section. Wood believes the contract states the completion is determined by the number of serviceable locations. In any case, every location in the town should be connected by the end of September 2026, which is prior to the contract's 2-year deadline. AT&T had also forwarded their report they submitted to the Public Service Commission for the Capital Projects Grant which states that they are currently 2% completed. b Discuss AT&T’s outreach event(s). Robyn Gruner from AT&T has asked if we have any Memorial Day events where they could do outreach. The only county event on Memorial weekend is Jacksonport’s Maifest. Since that is not in our service area, it is unknown if an event like that would be a viable option. Our town doesn’t have their own events and Memorial Day is a bit early for seasonable residents. AT&T may want to send some people to the Lake Forest Park Road Association or any road/community association group events. Kraase suggested that they could hold an event for residents at Arle Hall or Crossroads. c. Review draft outreach materials. Materials were passed out to the committee members. Discussion held on the materials and the timing of future informational postings on the town website. The town board will need to sign off on the materials and approve their posting on the website. Wood also stated the Town of Egg Harbor has a cover page for residents on their website and that he will work on something similar to that for our town website. d. Discussed materials to be posted to Town’s web page: i. AT&T Project updates. Ii. Project permits for construction in the town. Jessica Hatch had suggested that we post the permits on the town website so that residents can see them. Wood suggested that Feuerstein address this issue with Michelle Sternard, our town clerk at the next town board meeting. Iii. Outreach materials. Discussion on whether it would be possible for Wood to gain access to the web portal to post relevant fiber updates and information to the website after it is approved by the town chair or board. This will also be addressed by Feuerstein with the Town Clerk. 9. Matters to be placed on a future meeting agenda: a. There is no future business that needs to be discussed unless new information is received on the project, so no future meeting date will be set at this time. b. Official disbandment of committee. 10. Next meeting date: To be determined. 11. Motion to adjourn made by Graf, seconded by Kraase. The meeting adjourned at 3:45 pm. Respectfully submitted by Cathy Eckers, Recording Secretary
