7. Old business.
a. Discuss broadband maps, review strategy and challenge process. FCC list is still
the best data. Waiting for a procedure from Jessica or Hugh for the best way to
use available information to confirm actual BSL. Nasawaupee had major
corrections in locations. Originally had showed 2048, it was found that 10%
were invalid and 100 others were just storage buildings. Town of Sturgeon Bay
has 745 fire numbers and appears to have 676 BSL.
b. Discuss contract and public/private partnership with ATT. Wood/Feuerstein had
discussed after the last meeting to hold off on working on the ATT contract until
Town of Egg Harbor (TEH) and Town of Sevastopol contracts were signed to save
effort. TEH issued a press release on 12/14/23 stating they were going with ATT.
Not sure if wording excludes them from BEAD funding. TEH BB committee chair
did not think contract could be shared. Feuerstein to confirm with Nesbitt and
advise. Sevastopol Board is expected to vote on a resolution to go with ATT at
their next meeting on 12/18/23.
c. Discuss resolutions and timeline for town board. Feuerstein stated that the town
board will decide on whether to follow the lead of other towns ad vote on a
resolution or hold an electors meeting.
8. New Business
a. Discuss response to Charters challenge to ATT CPF application. David and Jessica
submitted comments to Charters challenge. ATT did not respond. Good
information was provided showing financial hardship. 38% of students receiving
free or reduced price lunches. 31% of town residents in poverty or considered
ALICE.
b. Discuss data from Sevastopol and Southern Door. Data from schools seemed a
little light. Wood to confirm if school choice could be an issue with data
reported
c. Capital Projects Fund grants. Winners should be notified in February 2024
d. BEAD funding. Process still being worked out. Interested parties may be
submitting letters of intent in March 2024
