The County contacted Joe regarding the second cutting of the grass; to be done within next month. Contract payment on the Swamp road project (ARIP #00041) will need to be funded initially, until we get the reimbursement back from WisDOT. Total project cost is $293,086. We currently have enough in savings to cover this expense in the short-term. Cemetary road is finished and looks great. Town Park: Pickleball Club Proposal: Jay Renstrom, Don Helm, and Mimi Schmidt presented a plan to upgrade Brussels Town Park for pickleball, benefiting both the local community and Door County as a whole. The Door County Pickleball Club will: • Paint lines for 6 new courts (replacing the current, incorrectly sized layout of 2), • Purchase 4 additional nets, • Provide storage containers and balls, • Possibly add a wind screen in the future. All upgrades will be made at no cost to the community. The Club may also assist with scheduling and organizing play by skill level, if needed in the future. This improvement could support future tournaments during Kermiss or Belgian Days. With new bathrooms expected by spring, public accessible could further increase park use (to be discussed). Motion Marchant/Vandertie unanimously carried by voice vote to allow Door County Pickleball Club to enhance the Park pickleball courts and provide equipment Belgian Days support: With a successful Belgian Days behind us, Brussels Lions has again offered to pay 2 SepticMaintenance bills and the July park WPSC electrical bill. Many thanks to the Lions Club for their help. Church requested use of park: The Church would like to use the Concession stand for access to the cooler again this year for Kermiss. Motion Vandertie/Marchant unanimously carried by voice vote to allow the church to use the concession stand for Kermiss Community Center Addition of Internet: Joe has been working with T-Mobile’s government division to secure unlimited internet for under $55/month. The setup includes a router (no building installation required), which should arrive and be installed next week. T-Mobile offers a 30-day trial—if the service is satisfactory, billing will begin; if not, we can cancel without obligation. Once confirmed, we’ll contact SecurityGuard to enable emergency connectivity. If the voting machine can operate via cell connection, we can cancel the landline, saving $76/month.
