February 25, 2026 Town of LuxemburgMeeting was called to order by Chairman Linda Jonet at 7:00 PM.The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.Roll Call: Linda Jonet, Matt Haen, Leonard Wachal, Jerry Zellner, Edith Lauscher, Kim BosmanCommunity Present: Nick Achtermeier – Harter’sMatt Boutott, Chris Olson, and Leah Friehe - GFLScott Oftedahl & Andrew Gantman – Going Garbage & Recycling Public Comments: None Approval of the January meeting minutes, Salentine Planning Commission, and Miesler Planning Commission meeting minutes. Leonard moved with a second by Matt to approve. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays---Treasurer Jerry Zellner stated that as of January, 31 2026 the town has a checking balance of $1,079,261.53 and the CD of $201,068.54 for a total of $1,280,330.07. Taxes were collected December and January. We will be switching the checking account to the Bank of Luxemburg, as there is a checking account for municipalities that will pay us a much better interest rate than we currently have. ----Zoning Administrator Edith Lauscher reported receipts; $195.00 Jauquets Hillview Dairy LLC-Building Permit; $75.00 Rob Malcore-Building Permit; $175.00 Dustin Herlache-Building Permit; $200.00 Matthew Salentine-Sign Permit; Total = $645.00. Old Business:Furnace-New furnace has been installed, tested, and is running. New Business:Garbage/recycling Bids – Received 3 bids. All bids supplied a 95 gallon garbage and 95 gallon recycle bin and minimum of garbage pick up every week and recycling every other week. 1) Going - $19.90/unit (5 year contract) 2) GFL - $18.45/unit (5 year) and 3) Harter’s - $23.00/unit (5 year). Low bidder was GFL at $14.85/unit for the 5 year contract. Motion made to accept GFL proposal for a 5 year contract. Leonard moved with a second by Matt. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays Town Resolution Supporting Transportation Funding Solution – Town Association asked the Town to sign, Linda signed and copy mailed Wisconsin Town Association, Senator Andre Jacque, and Representative Joel Kitchens.Town Insurance-Rural Insurance – Made several calls to Insurance representative to get premium renewal invoice. Policy is due the beginning of March. The list of drivers for the Town will be submitted to the insurance company and then we should receive the renewal invoice.Annexation update – no formal annexation request has been received.LSSIP Small Structure Grant – reviewing the list of Small Structures in the Town and the rating of those structures, we would not qualify for this Grant.Kewaunee County Preservation – Edith is working on the list of the rezonings completed in the Town and will submit by the mid March deadline.
