November 2024 Town Meeting Minutes

November 26, 2024 Town of Luxemburg Meeting was called to order by Chairman Linda Jonet at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: Linda Jonet, Ken Dart, Leonard Wachal, Jerry Zellner, Edith Lauscher(excused), Glenda Daul Community Present: Public Comments: Approval of the October Meeting Minutes: Ken moved with a second by Leonard to approve. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays Reports: Treasurer Jerry Zellner stated that as of October 31, 2024 the town has a checking balance of $64,396.97, ARPA is $45,244.38, and a CD of $190,075.38 for a total of $299,716.73. New Business: The suspicious activity gentleman was identified as Jason Hujet. When he spoke with Linda, he sated he was trying to get our attention regarding people continuing to go down Northbrook Road after County AB to the east. On the Village side which is the southside of the road is a “No Outlet” sign. He wants a sign on the northside of the road that is lite and flashing for “Dead End”. A “Dead End” sign has been put in but it will not be lite and we also replaced the Village sign to “Dead End”. Approve the total 2025 Highway Expenditures pursuant to Sec. 81.01(3) of Wis Stats: Leonard moved with a second by Ken to approve. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays Adopt Town Tax Levy to be paid in 2025 pursuant to Sec. 60.10 (1)(a) of Wis Stats. Note: The Town Levy does NOT exceed the allowable state levy limit. The levy is $226,432: Leonard moved with a second by Ken to approve. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays Adopt the Town Budget 2025 Sec. 65 (90)(3)(b) which includes General Fund Expenditures and General Fund Revenues: Ken moved with a second by Leonard to approve. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays Next monthly meeting is Thursday, December 19th. We completed the County survey from the Highway Department. A letter will be sent to Janet Zehren regarding end caps not being put on replaced culvert. If not done by 12/31/24, the County Highway Department will do it at her expense.
