October 2023 Town Meeting Minutes

October 24, 2023 Town of Luxemburg Meeting was called to order by Chairman Linda Jonet at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: Linda Jonet, Ken Dart, Leonard Wachal, Jerry Zellner (excused), Edith Lauscher, Glenda Daul Community Present: Public Comments: Approval of the September Meeting Minutes: Ken moved with a second by Leonard to approve. Motion carried. 2 ayes, 0 nays Reports: As of September 30, 2023 the town has a checking balance of $50,559.24, ARPA $77,894.63, and a CD of $180,681.08 for a total of $309,139.95 Zoning Administrator Edith Lauscher reported 3 building permits were issued. Blake Ravet for a shed, Jason Rollins for a coverall building and Steven Weidner for a covered walkway. Edith will be talking to Bruce Barbiaux regarding placing a semi-trailer on his property. Town Ordinances doesn’t allow this. New Business: The old fire truck was sold for $10k. We have received complaints about getting tree branches cut on Birchwood Circle. Letters are being sent to property owners to notify them that the trees are on their property and not in the right of way therefore it is their responsibility to have the branches cut. All roads have been patched. Upon inspection, it was noticed that culverts have been put in and do not meet requirements of 60 feet with end caps. The following land owners will be informed: Jim Demeuse, Mike Romuald and Janet Zehren. Todd Every is leaving 12/1/23. Grass Cutting is almost done. 2024 Budget review meeting will be November 1 st. Next meeting is Wednesday, November 22nd. Motion to approve the monthly bills: Leonard moved with a second by Ken.
