November 2022 Town Meeting Minutes

November 22, 2022 Town of Luxemburg Meeting Meeting called to order by the Town Chairman Linda Jonet at 7:00 PM The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: Linda Jonet, Ken Dart, Leonard Wachal, Jerry Zellner, Edith Lauscher, Glenda Daul Community Members: Bob Weidner Public Comments: Bob Weidner questioned the raises of $500 for the Supervisors, Treasurer and Zoning Administrator and where that put their salaries compared to others in our county. We were the lowest and now we would be 5th in ranking. Upon discussion of this, he recommended that we would bump them up another $200 each in 2024 so this would be approved when the budget gets approved later in the evening. Order of Business: Approval of the October Monthly Meeting with Zoning Minutes - motion made by Leonard Wachal, 2nd by Ken Dart to approve. 2 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: As of 10/31/22 - $63,116.18 in checking, $178,751.68 in one Money Market and $135,992.09 in another Money Market. Note that $34,348.52 of Shared Revenue was deposited in account on 11/21/22. Zoning Report: Edith Lauscher reported Mark Kroll was interested in selling his land but had questions on building a shed on the land. He will need a rezoning hearing to pursue this. New Business: Total Highway expenditures is $201,718. Motion made by Leonard Wachal, 2nd by Ken Dart to approve. 2 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried. Adopt raising the salary for the Supervisors, Treasurer and Zoning Administrator salaries by $500 effective with the term of office starting April of 2023 and an additional $200 effective 4/1/24 - motion made by Leonard Wachal, 2nd by Ken Dart to approve. 2 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried. Adopt town levy of $221,138 – motion made by Ken Dart, 2nd by Leonard Wachal. 2 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried. Adopt the town budget - motion made by Leonard Wachal, 2nd by Ken Dart to approve. 2 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried. Motion to approve monthly bills made by Ken Dart, 2nd by Leonard Wachal. 2 ayes, 0 nays. Motion carried. Next monthly meeting is Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
