Town Board Meeting — Minutes

Monthly Town Board Meeting – September 2, 2025 The Town Board of the Town of Brothertown met at 7:00 p.m. at the town hall to audit and pay all bills and take care of agenda items before the board. The meeting was properly announced. All said the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Chairman: Larry Propson, Supervisors: Henry Hecht and Doug Marcelle, Treasurer: Lori Fhlug, Clerk: LeAnne Karls and four citizens. Highway Supervisor: Logan Schmitz was absent. Supervisor Hecht made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marcelle, to accept the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Supervisor Marcelle made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Hecht, to accept the minutes of the August 5th, 2025 meeting as read. Motion carried. Lori Fhlug gave the Treasurer’s Report for July 2025. Supervisor Hecht made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marcelle, to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried. Bills were presented. Supervisor Marcelle made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Hecht, approving the disbursements for August 2025 except for #20369 & #20370. #20369 is to be approved by the highway supervisor and #20370 will be addressed by Supervisor Hecht. Motion carried. There were no certified survey maps. Supervisor Marcelle made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Hecht approving a Class B Liquor and Class B Beer license for Debra A. Calaway DBA Barnyard Butchers LLC effective today to June 30th, 2026. Motion carried. Chairman Propson obtained information from GFL for budgeting purposes in 2026. No further action is needed at this time. Supervisor Hecht submitted a paper contract from Cleary Building Corp. Insulation under the slab is a current issue. Supervisor Hecht explained it was not included in the bid although it was communicated that it was previously included. Supervisor Hecht will work through the situation and deliver the down payment. Building can still be completed this fall. Board provided direction regarding the building code ordinance. Matter will be added to the October agenda. The Pre-Budget Meeting is scheduled for 10/15/2025 at 6:00 p.m. and the Budget Meeting is scheduled for 11/11/2025 at 6:00 p.m. No highway supervisor report. No building permits. Supervisor Marcelle was asked by Chuck Reichwald about installing a parking lot for the bar. Chairman Propson advised he should contact Plan Commission Chair Ken Thiel as there may be a zoning issue. Clerk reviewed situation with Rothmann Cemetery refund. Board directed clerk to refund our share only. Being no further business, Supervisor Hecht made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marcelle, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m. LeAnne Karls, Town Clerk
